Carlos just smiled and shrugged. “Each to their own – some people
are able to do more, I guess.” He chuckled. “I didn’t expect you to have one. I
was just making a point – you’re clearly a very busy person, and it’s
incredible. I admire it, actually.”“Really? I dunno, I just uh….” He paused, making a face as he tried to decide how to word what he was about to say. “I have a hard time sitting still, I think. One’a the reasons I got the dog, he keeps me outta the house and out of my head, heh. If I wasn’t working, I’m not really sure what I’d be doing instead, y’know?”
Carlos thought he might have some idea, considering what
Hancock had admitted of his habits… but that was heavy stuff, so obviously he
wasn’t going to mention it. After all, he could be wrong.
“Well, right now, you’re taking a break,” Carlos told him
with a smile. “Going on a road trip with a Yankee.
It’s gonna be loads of fun, right?”
