They laced their fingers with their husband’s and batted their eyelashes, “I think long words make me sound intelligent, they’re just hard to pronounce sometimes.”

“That’s okay. You’re doing great, honey – you really are.” Carlos smiled at them and pulled out a chair for them to sit down. “And yes – knowing longer words and knowing how to use them correctly is definitely a sign of intelligence. But it’s okay to mess up – the other day I mispronounced ‘sociopathy’ so instead of saying ‘so-shee-aw-poth-ee’ I said ‘so-shee-oh-path-ee’, and it just didn’t flow correctly and it felt weird.”
