Yondu shrugs. “We never go anywhere without weapons…. it’s a … prepared thing… we keep weapons even if we go on a picnic.”
Jamie whines. “Jamie likes pups… upset he can’t have pups because of
nut… because he’s crazy…. mean… violent…. Jamie gets frustrated…”Carlos frowned slightly at Yondu. “It’s Earth – this is the place where you shouldn’t have weapons on you!” Carlos shut his eyes and took a breath. “Sorry… I’m sorry, I’m just… now that you guys are here I’m anxious all over again…”
Tullk just lay there with Jamie, humming with his gravelly voice to calm the other.
Yondu sighs at that. “Sorry……. perhaps we should… go…” he didn’t want to but he didn’t want to stress carlos out.
Jamie eventually calms and nuzzles against him. “Nuts quiet again….he’s gone back to sleep. Your humming put him to sleep.”
“Good to hear,” Tullk grunted. He smiled at the other man, still petting his hair.
“No, wait – don’t go,” Carlos said quickly. “I – I’m sorry, it’s me… everything will be fine. I’m… it’s my job-search – it’s making me antsy.”
“He is,” Mikey agreed as he rolled up with a glass of water. He offered it to Yondu. “Carlos is getting stir-crazy from staying in the house for so long.”
Yondu hums. “….I’d offer a job but… you know…. and I can easily convert credits to cash so your family lives comfortably…”
Jamie purrs and pulls him into a kiss.
Kraglin peered out the back door and made a face. He turned away to give the other Ravagers some privacy while he nursed the bubbly drink that Mikey had given him. It was really fruity and sweet, and it was purple… he could practically feel his teeth rotting from drinking it.
Carlos sighed. “I can’t do that… the government here likes to know where money is coming from. And they’re more liable to believe that it’s drug money rather than space money. I… it has to be an Earth job.”
“He’s keeping busy with some of my work,” Mikey said with a smile. “It’s nice to have somebody to do the heavy-lifting when people bring in their computer towers for us to fix.”
