Tony
was happy to watch the younger man for a while, enjoying seeing him
take joy in his work and see a problem with the sketch which he was
quick to correct. He hummed lightly watching him and smiled brightly as
he saw the device he was designing coming together easily.“We always strive to have the best both for out staff and for the
people who rely on the tech here at Stark Industries. We hope that you
joining us, should you succeed here, will mean we can do more to help
recover the issues that have been made through no fault of your own, but
you might be able to see ways to solve it better than some of our other
staff.” Pepper said honestly and smiled. “So far you seem to be doing
well. I haven’t seen Tony so quiet before.”Tony rolled his eyes a little and shook his head before he looked to
Carlos. “You’ve got a great mind, can be hard to get down on paper
sometimes, but yeah it’s a great place to be right now. You have a whole
future ahead of you.”Carlos laughed softly. Silently, he agreed with Ms Potts – he hadn’t expected Mr Stark to be so… not the center of attention. In any setting, really.
“I certainly hope there is a future with this,” Carlos murmured, mostly to himself. Carlos wasn’t exactly twenty-five anymore, but he knew he probably was young in Stark’s eyes – at least in a better position for opportunities age-wise. And with the design he was working on… it would be great to see it come to life. He’d fantasized that it could be made available some time before he turned forty.
Carlos drew and most of the main parts of the chair were illustrated, so he started to write the notes on the side. He was focused on it, and as he went Carlos felt pretty good about it. Nervous, but good. Like he was doing his best.
Tony smiled softly hearing his comment and hummed lightly. “We’ll see, so far it’s looking good but we will see.” He replied smoothly before watching him carefully.
“If you become part of this company is there any specific field you wish to work? We are expanding our Medi-care sector to include brain damage and nerve damage, looking to help heal those who were paralysed if we can. However there is also the transport sector and the construction sector. We’ve been looking into eco efficient cars from construction to use trying to reduce carbon but it’s been tough” Pepper spoke plainly wondering how the other would respond.
Tony liked to view, liked the look of the plans, and he smiled softly seeing how much effort the other was putting in. “Pep, I’m liking this one.” He whispered to her softly before Carlos had a chance to reply.
Carlos looked up to respond, but he paused when Mr Stark
leaned in to talk to her. He didn’t quite hear what he said, but going by the
expression on Stark’s face it was something good. Oh boy… Okay, calm down, Carlos. Respond…
“Well, I’ve only had a limited amount of experience on the
medical side,” Carlos admitted. “My forte is almost purely programming and mechanical
engineering. However, working to expand the reach of those in a world more
designed for the able-bodied would be an amazing experience.
“Carbon emissions may only tricky I think because people
might be a bit set on using gasoline and coal,” Carlos went on. “I… at the risk
of sounding political, I believe there’s ways to produce energy cleanly – for instance,
maybe with the combination of solar panels, alternators, and battery reserves.”
