“Well, you have to stay because I’m staying here,” Carlos said, rolling his eyes. “C’mon, it’ll be fun – there’s loads of activities here – I’m sure you’ll find something to like!”
“Carlos, don’t be lame.” Maria whined. “David weirds me out. He’s too happy.”
Carlos shrugged. “Yeah… but he’s legitimately harmless. Just humor him. But not too much or he’ll get over excited. He’s like a golden retriever mixed with a stick-bug. Also, I am not lame.”
“What the frick does that even mean, hermano?” She asked with a sigh. “Let’s go deal with the dog stick man then.”
“I mean that he’s skinny,” Carlos told her. “And be nice to him – he’s really a good guy.”
Carlos walked ahead and pushed open the door for Maria to carry her stuff in.
