Carlos Appreciation Week – Headcanon Day

So, one of my old, I’ve-been-kicking-this-around-since-August-2013 ideas is that Carlos is one of the most popular guest speakers with the local Girl Scout troops. I feel like this headcanon (why did we ever stop saying “fanon” anyway?) is fairly well-supported, now that we know that Carlos is actually Professor The Scientist, and that the Girl Scouts of Night Vale are slightly less eldritch & a bit more hands-on that their Boy Scout counterparts.

I imagine that most of Carlos’ lessons start out perfectly normal (“Today, we’re going to learn about rocketry!”) but quickly get sidetracked (“Well, heh, we’d need quite a bit more thrust than the standard kit provides to break the atmosphere.”) into something that involves a… few more explosions than originally planned (“Wow! That was a MUCH larger detonation than our hypothesis predicted! Let’s see if we can duplicate that result!”)

Obviously, the troop adores him.
