Carlos hadn’t been to a circus in years – not since he was little. But there had been a raffle at work and Carlos had won a coupon for a free ticket. He kinda hoped that his brother and/or his dad were in town so he could invite them to go with him.
Carlos made his way to the ticket office that was set up, standing in the line with his coupon as he looked at everything around him. Some things were different than what he remembered or imagined a circus to be like, but not everything could be a dated cliche trope he supposed.
Once at the ticket office he smiled and offered the coupon. “Hey… this any good?” he asked in a joking manner.
With
a roll of his eyes, the acrobat snatched away a slice of gooey cheesy
pizza to tear into it like some kind of animal, not at all as graceful
as his physical performances were at the circus. It was actually quite
ironic.Skip was finally beginning to lose his patience, his fingers tapped along the table as he ate the slice reluctantly.
Alright, something was definitely not right. Carlos was finding that he was eager to get Skip back to the tent for his bike and then go back home to his lab. He considered if he should ‘accidentally’ unfollow Skip on Twitter… the temper was just really putting him off.
Carlos’ finished as fast as he could, eating maybe more loudly than preferred. he’d liked to have taken his time with it, but not this time.
He spent a moment wiping his mouth with a napkin to get the pizza sauce cleaned up.
As soon as Carlos was finished, Skip was practically jumping down his throat for him to hurry up and even went as far as to wait by the door for him. It was for one, extremely agitating and nerve wracking.
Though as they moved into the car to head off, Skip’s tone plummeted throughly and suddenly allowed his head to drop forward in realization at what he was about to do. He bit at his lip, his conversation had been stiff and awkward, he wasn’t ready to preform. “I’m sorry,” Skip muttered, “I didn’t mean to rush you like that… I really didn’t, I just have urgent issues I forgot about.”
Carlos just hummed in acknowledgement as he unlocked his car. “So… um, just back to the tent okay? Or do you just want to go straight to the hotel you’re staying at?” he asked.
