Carlos hadn’t been to a circus in years – not since he was little. But there had been a raffle at work and Carlos had won a coupon for a free ticket. He kinda hoped that his brother and/or his dad were in town so he could invite them to go with him.
Carlos made his way to the ticket office that was set up, standing in the line with his coupon as he looked at everything around him. Some things were different than what he remembered or imagined a circus to be like, but not everything could be a dated cliche trope he supposed.
Once at the ticket office he smiled and offered the coupon. “Hey… this any good?” he asked in a joking manner.
There
was a very strong part about Skip that made him think how Carlos could
just be looking to humiliate him, but he didn’t have to be remembered by
these people anyway, he could snap away their memories if things went
sour. “Sure.. Yeah, so do you wanna test me first or just get started on
the public image..?”“We can test it before, if you’d prefer, but I’m alright with having fun with the test,” Carlos said. “But it’s up to you.”
“I’d like to just warm up, if you don’t mind?” He hoped with a nervous smile, “Do you think your colleagues might be upset if I draw their blood?”
Carlos shrugged. “I can’t speak for them. And Jake’s the only one here. What, are you hungry?” He asked it as if he was asking to take him out for pizza again.
The vampire shrugged and glanced away in embarrassment, “Yeah- yeah, just a little bit…” He trailed off and crossed his arms loosely, not meeting eyes.
Carlos nodded. “Okay! Well, we have a store of blood for blood stone use. Would you like a pack?”
