Carlos went out into the storm with his equipment, since the weather was really interesting around Sleepy Peak Peak (what, with Spooky island and that one side of the lake always being covered in dark, foreboding clouds).
As he approached one of the locations of a lightning strike however he paused, seeing a person on the ground. Oh no – did it strike someone?
Carlos hurried over and dropped his equipment to the side to start inspecting the body for life.
“He-hello? Hello, can you hear me? Sir?”
J:
he winced as he laid back, slowly closing his eyes “… I-It feels like
I’m still bleeding somewhere but Ev-Everything’s numb..”“I might have to look around you some more,” Carlos said. “But I’m going to get this cleaned up for you so we have one less thing to worry about.” The numbness might be from bloodloss, but Carlos couldn’t be sure.
J: he groaned, covering his eyes with his free hand and mumbling “Need to hide soon..”
That got Carlos’ attention.
“Hide…?” he asked. “Hide… from what?”
J: “T-The burning bright..” he starts to tremble again
“I.. I”m afraid I don’t understand,” Carlos admitted softly. “What’s the Burning Bright?”
J: looked up at the ceiling, a few tears building as his voice got quiet “I-I can’t fight again..”
What?
“Jon, calm down. It’s okay – you’re safe. You’re going to be okay, I promise.” Maybe he was delirious. Carlos wondered if he should call an ambulance.
J: he mumbled something else about the ‘bright burning’ before finally passing out
He passed out. Not good. Carlos got up to pull his phone out of his pocket. He called for an ambulance and gave them a rundown of what the situation might be. He stayed on the phone with the dispatcher while he waited for the ambulance to show up.
