Carlos wandered through the forest. He knew he’d seen a cave somewhere – it looked like an old bear cave, though he hadn’t gone in it before. He wanted to be as far away from his camp and the summer camps, in case the children had an idea to wander around at night to hunt for snipes. The full moon would make visibility perfect for it, so it was a reasonable concern in Carlos’ mind.
He finally came across the cave he was looking for. And not too soon either – the moon would rise probably within the next ten minutes. Carlos ventured forth, holding his flashlight up to search the inside of the cave. Hopefully it was empty. Could a werewolf beat a bear? Maybe?
the cave seemed empty aside from from old bones and cobwebs, at least, for the first few minutes before Carlos could hear something being dragged towards the caves opening
For a moment Carlos was frozen. It was too late for him to try to escape – there just wasn’t any more time.
Carlos shut off his light and tried to hurry further into the back of the cave. He could see somewhat of where he was going, and he wondered if his eyesight was already improving before the transformation. He pressed himself against the wall behind a sort of obstruction jutting out from it. He hoped that whatever it was would be scared away easily.
the beast stopped, sniffing the air in the cave, it was then that the strong smell of blood hit Carlos
thankfully the beast seemed more interested in its meal then finding the other. the faint light from outside helped Carlos almost see the outine of the large creature, it almost looked like another werewolf
Carlos couldn’t help but lean forward a bit at the warm smell with a tinge of iron. His senses definitely were getting better, and he was definitely interested in what the other being had brought in.
No – no, he didn’t need it. He shouldn’t. He needed to try not to get discovered – at least until his transformation was finished. Any minute now…
Carlos quickly started to push off his coat and shoes. His skin felt like it was crawling and his bones were starting to ache. It was happening.
the creature occaionally glance in Carlos’ direction with every noise he made, did it know he was there and just not care ? was it waiting for something ? either way, it was staying near the entrance of cave
Carlos had only barely gotten his pants off before the transformation hit him like a train. He let out a cry of shock as his bones started to rearrange themselves, growing and changing. His hair thickened into coarse fur and more of it sprouted to cover his whole body. Carlos was only barely aware of the changes that assaulted him and he almost completely forgot that he was meant to be hiding.
Carlos fell forward onto his front paws, hunched in a tense stance as the final changes rippled through him. When it was over he let out a low, almost pained huff of air as if he’d been holding his breath the entire time.
the creature carefully made its way towards the sound, jumping back slightly when he fell into view
it made a small chirp, trying to get the others attention to try and determine how he would to react
The chirp startled Carlos. The massive black and grey wolf jumped and tried to back into the wall again, paws kicking stomping carelessly on his discarded clothes. His tail was between his legs and his ears were pinned back, but Carlos’ hackles were raised. He was crouched low, his belly almost touching the ground as he gave a low growl of warning. The wolf was scared, and the human mind was trying to figure out what it was looking at. Was that a bear? It didn’t look like a bear.
