My Fingers Slipped @partyplanningforsuckers The heat only seemed to be packed in at the circus, with the hundreds of citizens that had swarmed like ants and the intense rides that seemed to have a life of their own. The smell of sugary cotton candy and popcorn was enough to lure anyone who had just come from a days work, the circus was the place to be. With a circle of sand and tigers, along with swinging trapeze and double jointed dancers, the main stage was selling ticket for such a view.

Carlos hadn’t been to a circus in years – not since he was little. But there had been a raffle at work and Carlos had won a coupon for a free ticket. He kinda hoped that his brother and/or his dad were in town so he could invite them to go with him.

Carlos made his way to the ticket office that was set up, standing in the line with his coupon as he looked at everything around him. Some things were different than what he remembered or imagined a circus to be like, but not everything could be a dated cliche trope he supposed.

Once at the ticket office he smiled and offered the coupon. “Hey… this any good?” he asked in a joking manner.

It
was quiet inside with the soft padding of their shoes against the tile
to save the noise, they shuffled together to situate themselves before
Skip began to settle into the atmosphere. He sighed into the silence and
graciously dimmed the lights, “It night hurt if you try to tense up or
anything- just.. try to stay relaxed if you can.”

“Okay,” Lore said. “How should we do this.. should I sit down? Oh, do you have any tips on how to help me stay relaxed?

“Deep breaths, just think of it as getting blood drawn- try to find something in the room and focus on it, but perhaps if you enjoy the sensation, try to really go for exaggerating yourself to distract.” He offered as he sat up onto a counter to get a better angle at their throat, “Standing is fine.”

Lore nodded to him. “Okay, then. I’m not going to fall over, am I? How much loss should I expect?”

The vampire in question was slowly growing irritated with all of these questions, he just wanted to feed already. “No, you won’t fall over.. I’ll hold onto you, and only expect a third of a pint.”

Lore nodded again. “Sounds good, then,” they said with a grin. “A snack afterward should set me on the right track. Okay!” And with that they stepped toward Skip, all of their concerns seemingly dissipated.

He glanced them over steadily, forcing their head to tilt into his hands to expose their neck and throat. “It won’t hurt if you stay still.. Try not to gasp,”

Lore just nodded and shut their eyes, taking a deep breath. Their hands came up to grip Skip’s shirt, just to help them keep steady for him.

the forest was quiet as usual til what sounded like a storm opened up from a small circle a few feet off the ground, complete with lightening flash off and striking trees but as quickly as the the ‘storm’ started, it ended, leaving only a few burn marks and a broken man on the ground -(sending this again cause i know tumblitch eats asks) dedmax, a starter for jon!

Carlos went out into the storm with his equipment, since the weather was really interesting around Sleepy Peak Peak (what, with Spooky island and that one side of the lake always being covered in dark, foreboding clouds).

As he approached one of the locations of a lightning strike however he paused, seeing a person on the ground. Oh no – did it strike someone?

Carlos hurried over and dropped his equipment to the side to start inspecting the body for life.

“He-hello? Hello, can you hear me? Sir?”

J: “Science… ‘m Jon..” he shifted uncomfortably “M-Mind if I pass out now..?”

“Yes, I mind very much,” Carlos said. “I need to get you somewhere safe. Camp Campbell is nearby – I can get you there to help patch you up. Stay awake, okay?”

J: he sighed softly, wincing as he sat up again “O-Okay.. But that might be hard…”

“I’ll help you. I just need you to keep talking to me.” Carlos quickly packed up what he could, deciding to leave some of his instruments near a tree to be found again later. He then reached to help Jon stand up. “Hold onto me… I’ll hold you up. Okay?”

J: he hesitates before taking the others hand, groaning softly as he got up and wrapped an arm around his waist “Wh-Where are We going..?”

“The camp,” Carlos reminded him. “It’s just a short distance away, I promise. You’re lucky you appeared where you did.”

J: he nods slightly, glancing up at him “Right.. The camp’s good… Which way..?”

“This way,” Carlos said. “Just hang onto me and try to keep moving.”
Carlos walked them to the nearest trail toward the camp. He hoped the
kids were doing an inside activity so they wouldn’t see the bloody,
definitely psychologically-scarring mess they were bringing in.

J: he partically clung to the other, limping as he moved slowly through quiet forest, wincing and mumbling under his breath

Luckily there were no kids immediately within sight. Thank God. Despite all the crap that the campers went through, Carlos still wanted to prevent problems where he could. Especially since Angie was there now as well.

Carlos led the way to the medical cabin, making a note to replace the supplies he uses in helping Jon.
