When you’re in the 1400’s Florence and your buddy starts coughing
I will never not find this funny

It has arrived!
I was gonna scroll right past this but it suddenly resonated with me
Carlos hadn’t been to a circus in years – not since he was little. But there had been a raffle at work and Carlos had won a coupon for a free ticket. He kinda hoped that his brother and/or his dad were in town so he could invite them to go with him.
Carlos made his way to the ticket office that was set up, standing in the line with his coupon as he looked at everything around him. Some things were different than what he remembered or imagined a circus to be like, but not everything could be a dated cliche trope he supposed.
Once at the ticket office he smiled and offered the coupon. “Hey… this any good?” he asked in a joking manner.
He
shook his head firmly and set down the empty packet, sucking briefly on
his fangs before answering. “No.. I usually have many young men with me
to.. help.”Carlos just nodded, sort of understanding what Skip was saying. “After I get notes on your hypnotism process today, you and I can talk about what can be done. I’ll need to know what sort of things affect you, like if a certain actual food might curb the craving or something. This’ll be a challenge, but you have my word as a scientist that I’ll work on this and figure out how to help you.” He smiled at the vampire, open and friendly and willing to help.
“A-Are you sure you really want to help me like this..? Don’t you think you might be discouraged if you don’t find a solution, or are you.. always going to keep trying-“ He paused and shook his head, “Not that- not that you need to devote all your time to me..”
“Yes, I’m sure,” Carlos told him. “I’m a scientist, and we don’t give up on the unknown easily.”
He nodded then and sighed to smile over his cheeks, “So! Is there something set up out in town, or how exactly are we performing this whole thing?”
“Well, since the show is for scientific purposes, I think we can set up a mock-stage in the lab here,” Carlos said. “We have presentations all the time so we’re already pretty well equipped for that sort of thing.”
“Oh, okay! Well then, when is it exactly?” He prepped curiously, watching the other scientists begin to disperse, “Id like to be able to prepare, if you don’t mind..”
“Well, it’s impossible to be exact, especially in Night Vale,” Carlos said. “But you heard us – we were thinking about later today. It’s totally up to you though – how much time would you like?”
“Just an hour or so really, I just need to clear my mind and get set what I want to do with your men so I don’t get off task,” He explained softly, moving his eyes back to Carlos. “That okay?”
“Scientists,” Carlos corrected gently with a smile. “Not all of them are men, you know. But yeah, absolutely – we’ll be here all day so take your time.”
“Oh- sorry, I didn’t mean any disrespect..” He said quickly, reaching forward and taking Carlos’ arm gently to get his point noticed. “I know there are women and other genders here, I just generalized to make it easier. I’m sorry if I offended you.”
“You’re okay,” Carlos assured him. “I appreciate you clarifying for me too.”
((Oh, thank you! I sincerely hope you have a better day!
((I’m heading to work now. I’ll be about 9 hours (form this post) before I’m back.
((Sorry I didn’t get to this sooner – I had already gone to bed for the night.
Honestly, I have been there. School can be the trigger for a lot of social anxiety. The truth is that you arent feeling well enough. You are sick, just not in the conventional sense. You’re not bad for not wanting to go to school – school is a stressful place to be.
My suggestion is, when you go back, forget about your first period and go see the school counselor. They can excuse you from the class because you’re seeing them and talking with them. That’s what they’re there for – to help you. Let them know that you have anxiety and that it makes going to school difficult. Hopefully, they can then discuss with you ways to help make school go by more easily for you.
If you like, let me know how this goes okay? High School was awful for me and I don’t want any one else to go through the experience that I did. I barely even remember school because I was disassociated so much from it.
((going to bed now. night night
