Yes…..? Who are you?

Really?
But they only use one? To be irrefutable you need to use like… Ten… And
the other person needs a sense of humor. *smiling*

Again, it’s depending on the situation.

True, you’d get a lot further in a bar like that than on the street

That’s not what I mean… I mean, a lot folks in bars wouldn’t appreciate it either probably. Just… I mean, a good rule is not to expect anything out of it and be prepared to laugh, I guess.

Well yeah, you gotta see how people react to it, read the mood.

Uh huh, exactly. They’re more of ice breakers rather than pick-up lines.

Yeah! Wait…. Are there any good pick up lines

No. None at all.

Carlos we need a full pack of mentos and a two liter soda no time for questions only science! – max-searchhistory

Heck yeah, absolutely! Going to the store!

Neil’s probably busy at the science camp. I’d say fire pit.

Alright. Let’s head there.

*Max nodded and started walking over.*

Okay. So, Max, do you have goggles? You should always wear goggles when doing science.

*he shook his head* nope.

Ah. Well, luckily, I have a spare. *he sets the sweets down on one of the benches and reaches into his pockets. He pulls out a couple pairs of goggles and offers one set to Max*

*Max took the goggles* do you just have these on hand all the time?

I’m a scientist. Lab safety is no joke. *smiles at him*

*he shrugged* Alright.

Okay. So lets set this up. Let me see if I have a piece of paper we can put at the bottom of the funnel while we lead it with the mentos… *he searches his pockets. He takes out his wallet and pulls out a business card for something or another that he’d forgotten about ever picking up.*

*max grabs tge funnel from his pocket and opens the mentos about halfway.*

Okay. Let’s get started. Are your goggles on, Max? *he slips on his own and makes sure they fit.

Carlos was startled and, and for an irrational moment he thought he might be pushed down the stairs. But, again, it was an irrational thought and Carlos felt guilty about thinking it. Upon realizing where he was being directed though, his stomach felt like it was sucked into a small, localized black hole.

Hancock probably told the Watch that he wanted to talk to Carlos. This was it. He was going to tell Carlos that this wasn’t working. Because it wasn’t – Carlos knew that. He wouldn’t blame Hancock for ending it… though it didn’t change the fact that this was going to hurt so much.

Carlos resigned himself. This was it, and there wasn’t anything he could do about it but… go and face the music. He could do that. He had to. Just stand there and agree with Hancock when he said that it was over.

He had expected, when he walked in, to see Hancock on the couch. Maybe playing with a jet canister or even his knife. Collected, calm, and serious. He didn’t expect to see the prone form on the couch with the mess of drug paraphernalia scattered around him. Carlos was confused at first, but as he cautiously stepped closer and started to put together what all the mess meant – that, plus the image of Hancock lying down motionless – Carlos’ mind jumped to conclusions and he suddenly panicked.

HANCOCK!!” he screamed and he rushed forward. Carlos used his boot to sweep away the needles scattered dangerously at the front of the couch and he crouched down to take Hancock’s face in his hands and examine it. “Hancock! Han, can you hear me??”

The shout hardly registered, and the ghoul didn’t move, not until Carlos physically moved him. He groaned softly, dark eyes moving to his, unfocused and hazy. It took a few moments for him to register who was touching him and once he did, the tears returned. Choking out a sob, Hancock reached up with shaky hands and gently cupped his face, hardly believing he was even real.

“C-Carlos? You came back?” He breathed in disbelief. “You–– I-I’m so sorry. I fucked up, I-I didn’t mean to–– I didn’t want to m-make you uncomfortable, I–– please don’t leave me…..”

Carlos was trying to figure out what to do. When Hancock touched him a hand automatically went up to take one of Hancock’s and give it a tight squeeze. Carlos took a look around at the needles and empty canisters and he felt overwhelmed.

“Han, did you… did you take all this??” he asked seriously. He then spotted bottles among the items and, somehow, his fear grew. He mixed drugs and alcohol?? Hancock was a hearty individual, as a ghoul, but Carlos feared that not even he would sober up in one piece.

Welcome to Camp Camp

Cecil was waiting in Carlos’ new lab after finally getting Station Management to agree to a vacation. He was excited to surprise his Significant Outsider, having not told him that he was going to visit him or that he got time off. Sitting on an empty table in his old Scouts uniform, Cecil watched the door impatiently.

Carlos had been out collecting soil samples from around the volcano. He wanted to know how long science could tell him that the volcano had been innactive.

Eventually Carlos did come back to his temporary lab – a tent with a lot of mobile equipment set up inside along with a cot. Carlos walked inside, but then stopped when he saw who was there.

“Ceec? What are you doing here?”

Cecil grew excited when he heard Carlos coming up to the tent, waving at Carlos, hopping down from the table.

“Carlos! You’re finally back!” He said with a wide grin. “I finally got Station Managment to agree to a vacation and I missed you. So I thought I would visit you.”

Carlos blinked, surprised. “Uh… r-really? That’s…” His face broke out into a grin. “That’s great! I had wondered if you would try to come because I said I’d be studying an extinct volcano…” He put down his samples in his cot and came up to hug Cecil.
