As the summer days rolled by, a full moon crept closer and closer. Thankfully, the woods surrounding the camp were large and caves were scatted everywhere, maybe Carlos could wait this out in a cave? all he had to do was find one and hope some other animal didn’t make its home there, right? -(the worse starter maker) L

Carlos wandered through the forest. He knew he’d seen a cave somewhere – it looked like an old bear cave, though he hadn’t gone in it before. He wanted to be as far away from his camp and the summer camps, in case the children had an idea to wander around at night to hunt for snipes. The full moon would make visibility perfect for it, so it was a reasonable concern in Carlos’ mind.

He finally came across the cave he was looking for. And not too soon either – the moon would rise probably within the next ten minutes. Carlos ventured forth, holding his flashlight up to search the inside of the cave. Hopefully it was empty. Could a werewolf beat a bear? Maybe?

‘I Already Ate, Remember? You Can Have The Rest If You Want..’

Carlos looked at the carcus. He did want it, but…

I really shouldn’t. My…stomach’s not made for this sort of… stuff. He had no idea if he could even digest raw meat before the morning came. It smelled really good, but… it just wasn’t a good idea.

He slunk into the cave, going to sit in the corner where he’d left his things.

he tilted his head slightly as he watched the other ‘You.. Are A Wolf..’

Carlos snorted softly as he pushed his labcoat up against the cave wall.  Take a good look at me – I”m really not. He used his nose to nudge his shoes onto the labcoat before he started to lay down next to the pile of clothes.

‘Whether You Were Or Weren’t Before Doesn’t Matter Right Now, Does It?’ he huffed slightly as he rolled closer

Carlos just grunted softly and lay his head down on top of his pants. He had originally been planning on just sleeping the night away, and that’s what he was going to do.

‘You’re A Strange Creature..’ he curled up slightly, covering his head with his wing

Could say the same about you. Not in a rude way, just… I haven’t seen anything like you before. Except at the library.

He turned his head enough to look at the other creature, but didn’t actually pick his head up.

‘What’s A Lab-airy?’ he uncovered his face just enough to see the other

A place where humans keep books. It has a lot of information in it.

‘Humans Are Strange Beings..’ he stretched out

Carlos would have shrugged, if his shoulders could move like that. Instead he just flipped one paw briefly in the air before tucking it under his neck and letting out a long sigh.

so Paradise California is gone

i haven’t seen any noise about this on tumblr yet, but a fire has completely wiped out a small town in california.

they’re calling it the camp fire. over 20,000 residents have been evacuated so far, the last area estimates i heard were over an hour ago at 18,000 acres and its still zero percent contained.

this is the smoke from about 18 miles away from the fire three hours ago. if you know anyone near chico, paradise, oroville or durham california you might want to check they’re okay

UPDATE: 4PM FRI NOV. 9, 2018

the fire has completely walked over paradise, magalia, and much of the rest of butte county. it’s under 10% containment and moving towards chico, which was been mostly evacuated as well. it’s been documented as one of the top 20 deadliest fires seen in california. i know many of the people personally whose lives have been destroyed by this fire. my aunt and uncle’s home, of whom we’re very close to, was demolished last night, same goes for family friends and others who lived in paradise– which is completely gone. there are 5 confirmed deaths, several dozen missing people.

EVACUATION SITES STILL OPEN AS OF 1 HOUR AGO:

  • Butte County Fairgrounds (199 E Hazel St, Gridley, CA 95948)
  • Yuba-Sutter Fairground (442 Franklin Ave, Yuba City, CA 95991)
  • Glenn County Fairgrounds (221 E Yolo St, Orland, CA 95963)
  • Chester Memorial Hall (22 Gay Street, Chester)

HOW TO HELP/DONATE:

  1. “Currently the best way to contribute is to make a monetary donation via the North Valley Community Foundation website.” -abc7news.com
  2. “Supplies: Hope Center in Oroville (1950 Kitrick Ave Ste. A) is taking donations. Hours: Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Needs: warm clothes, shoes, socks, coats (primarily for elderly residents).” -abc7news.com

the majority of those affected by the fire in paradise were elderly people. and having known paradise and magalia myself for years, it’s not a wealthy part of california. these people will need help, and lots of it.

if you have any questions, you can message me personally or seek information online or from the above references personally.

if you cannot help yourself, please spread the word and reblog. so many wonderful people are going through a terrible thing and need your help.

me remembering to go outside once every 8 days

when u high as hell walking to the gas station

yo this is cgi. notice the feet gliding a bit and the careful camerawork to hide the red car from the frame because it won’t reflect the robot. also that’s not how shadows work on an overcast day

Me high as hell walking to the gas station on an overcast day with a funky shadow avoiding red cars
