“Wait, really?” Carlos asked. “You can do that? Wait, you won’t be taking some bottle from some kid in history, would you? That could have consequences…”
They gave Carlos a conspiratorial look, “All you gotta do is say ‘please’, babe.” they teased
Carlos blinked at them. “What? Why?” he asked.

“Angie likes werewolves just fine. And she’s been around some of my adult children when they were in their wolf forms, along with my mate. The rest of the pack doesn’t really have much reason to be around her while in wolf shape.”
In other words, Angela was used to seeing werewolves as family and safe to be around. Which theoretically meant that she’d expect no harm to come from her Papa in wolf form.
Carlos let out a sigh at that. Good… that was good. Okay, things were shaping up to be alright, so far.
“That’s good to hear – I appreciate it,” he said to Mia. He sighed again. “Okay… and… you’ll be here with us? At least for a little bit?”
“I’ll stay as long as you need me to,” she confirmed. “Or, at least until I’ve had time to prove that you aren’t going to harm her. Have a little faith in yourself, Carlos. I trust you.”
Carlos couldn’t help the huff of laughter that he made. “Right… right, I’ll try. Th… I appreciate your help, Mia. So… should we still have the this rendezvous at my apartment? I have to, um… do a little wolf-proofing here anyhow.”
“You’re welcome, Carlos. And of course we can still do it at your apartment! Angie was looking forward to spending time with you, that includes being in Night Vale with you. When do you want us to come over?”
Carlos sighed. “Well… sometime before nightfall, I think,” he responded. “Just… so I still have the vocal cords to help explain to Angie what’s going to happen. And we can have dinner too, if she hasn’t already eaten. Or dessert – I have some ice cream.”
As the summer days rolled by, a full moon crept closer and closer. Thankfully, the woods surrounding the camp were large and caves were scatted everywhere, maybe Carlos could wait this out in a cave? all he had to do was find one and hope some other animal didn’t make its home there, right? -(the worse starter maker) L
Carlos wandered through the forest. He knew he’d seen a cave somewhere – it looked like an old bear cave, though he hadn’t gone in it before. He wanted to be as far away from his camp and the summer camps, in case the children had an idea to wander around at night to hunt for snipes. The full moon would make visibility perfect for it, so it was a reasonable concern in Carlos’ mind.
He finally came across the cave he was looking for. And not too soon either – the moon would rise probably within the next ten minutes. Carlos ventured forth, holding his flashlight up to search the inside of the cave. Hopefully it was empty. Could a werewolf beat a bear? Maybe?
He seemed surprised to be stopped by the other, puffing up his wings before growling defencively
Carlos didn’t make another move. He just stood in the other’s way, making a very low growl in his throat, but didn’t try to attack again.
he shot a glare at the other before trying to move around him, making sure not to get too close
Carlos snarled again and jumped in front of the other beast again. You are not going near that camp! Not near those kids!
he snarled, getting fed up with Carlos, so he gave his wings a few flaps, kicking up dirt and dust into the air
Carlos just barked at the other, his hackles raised and teeth bared.
No way, Jose – I don’t give a damn how big you are!
M!A drake and carlos can understand each other
((Sure! How about through thought-speech?
“lots of food coloring changes the taste of food, even the stuff I use imparts flavor a bit.” they didn’t know what was in food coloring, but it didn’t taste like plants
“Huh,” Carlos said. “I… suppose that makes sense. Still, I wish we could get some so you could try it at least.”
They furrowed their eyebrows, “was it made from green tomatoes or the leaves? Because tomatoes are in the Nightshade fmkly and their leaves are poison.”
“I don’t think so,” Carlos said. “I think it was just a lot of artificial food coloring. Which might’ve been why it didn’t last very long…”

Carlos please tell me to go to sleep it’s 3 am where I live and I just… I cant.. go to sleep,,,,,,,,, help
“Uh, sure,” Carlos said. “‘Go to sleep it’s 3 am where you live’. Does that help?”
Very funny.
But yes it does help.
“Good.” He smiled. “But seriously… you should sleep at night. It’ll help you to be healthier to sleep at night.”
▲ “Does it hurt when… um, when you turn?”
Sometimes? Yes…when I don’t really want to turn it can hurt a lot but I’ve learned to handle it. The first time was the worst.
“I can’t imagine that. It’s… well, it’s incredible, frankly.”
