“Apps.” He shivered in disgust that this town had evolved to the latest technology. It was horrid that he would have to resort to using a …a smartphone. The feeling dissipated as Carlos went on about Nightcrawler. “Oh, they’re the same person Kurt Wagner is Nightcrawler….you know like a superhero with a secret identity. I’m a superhero you know. Just probably one of the few with no secret identity.” He sighed at that with slight regret that he did not come up with an alias at some point during his career. Something cool like….The Wiz….yeah…that sound hip right? Stephen followed the scientist into the room and looked around. “Yes, this should be big enough. 3 feet in diameter is the perfect size for a circle.”

Carlos went to the small alter he had in his apartment and
gathered up the bloodstones that were arranged in a sort of semi-circle. He
carried them back for the Doctor. “Where do you want to do this? In the middle of
the floor? If so, do it on the tile – I’d rather not try to get burn marks out
of the carpet.” He looked at the little Bamf and smiled kindly at it.

“Yes, that is the best spot.” Stephen took the rest of the bloodstones to complete the circle. “The tile is better for me as well because….” A chalkboard filled with science was on the wall which he grabbed a piece of chalk and began to draw a circle that showed similarity to a mandala on the floor. “…of this.” The doctor put the bamf on Carlos’s shoulders and stepped in the circle and downloaded the bloodstone app as a basic guide. Once open, he thumbed through trying to find a chant to what he needed and hummed on how he could mix it with his own magic, that is if the bloodstones would even like that. “Microwaves….sacrifices
…ah! Dimensional travel…”

Carlos grinned at the critter and reached up to gently
scratch at the fur on its chest. “Hello there – oh, you’re so cute,” he cooed.
He looked at the circle on the floor and whistled lowly. “How alchemic,” he
commented. “And you just did that all free-hand… that’s amazing! The most I can
do is conceptual drafting, and even then I have to spend a lot of time on it.”
