That’s a very kind thing to say! It is often a scientist’s job to say things like ‘yes, this exists’ and validate things in that and other, similar, manners.

((all ‘dadlos’ joking aside, Carlos does like kids and he genuinely wants to see them succeed. His heart bleeds for those who are hurt or upset and he wants to do everything he can to help them.
But in practicality, Carlos can’t adopt a kid and take them home with him. By himself, he can’t give a kid everything they need because of his work. He needs a partner or a friend to coparent with to properly raise a child.
But he’ll do his damnest to protect a child and give them all the support he can.
