Carlos actually jumped with a small yelp and stared up at the man who approached. At first he wondered why someone would be wearing a suit out in the wastes, but then he found his voice. “Y- RUN!“ he hissed. “There’s raiders coming! You need to get somewhere safe!”

So he was hiding from the raiders as he had suspected. Perfect. Perhaps this would make his job a bit easier. “Where are they coming from?” He asks, looking around to see if they were near enough to see, before returning his gaze to the man in front of him.

Carlos just looked at him incredulously. Didn’t he hear Carlos??

“F-from the amphitheater,” Carlos explained. “To the east. Go! Before they find both of us, please!!”

Carlos was having mixed feelings though. If the guy didn’t bolt in the next few seconds, Carlos was going to grab him and drag him down behind the table with him.

Coming into the old city had been a bad idea, Carlos
decided, as he ran through the streets along the river. A pack of raiders had
caught sight of him and were now after him like a pack of wolves after a rabbit
who didn’t even have a god-damn gun!

He wondered about jumping over the wall and hiding out in
the trash piled along the polluted banks of the river. But he was toting so
much scrap that it would be too difficult, and if he were to just drop the bag
they might be able to figure out where he went.

His legs were getting tired and had to stop sometime. Carlos
saw a mailbox and an overturned picnicking table and he went for it. As soon as
he sat down he regretted his choice, but it was too late – he could hear
footsteps coming.

Pickman had been stalking this gang for a while now, killing them one by one and leaving his calling cards in order to draw more to the area to investigate. He did this with all the gangs who wandered into the area and had found it to be the most effective strategy. However, sometimes they grew bored of investigating or simply decided it wasn’t worth the risk so he would have to come out and try to draw them back in.

That’s what he’s doing now, making his way towards where he believes they had established a makeshift base. However, he stops when a figure cowering behind a picnic table catches his attention. Most of the time, he would go about his business, but maybe this guy was running from those raiders…

“Excuse me?” He approaches the man slowly. “What are you hiding from?”
