“Hello there! Um…this is awkward. Have you seen a young boy runs across here? He’s small, poofy hair, wearing a blue hoodie?” David had knocked despite himself. He heard about a scientist researching the volcano near by but he never had the chance to actually swing by and say hello until now.
Carlos looked to the younger man with a concerned frown. “I have not,” he admitted. “But… do you need help looking for him? A kid shouldn’t be wandering around in the woods on his own.”
*he laughs and claps, looking over when the car pulls up, making random excided noises when he sees Carlos* papa! papa!
*Carlos blinks and scrunches his eyebrows in confusion as he
approaches.* Is he babbling? Has he been doing that the whole time?
A: No, Papa, he’s saying your name! Listen!
*it’s kinda a mix of both, Max smiles and reachs up at Carlos* papa! pap!
C: What? Oh my god… Oh my god, Max, you’re so smart! Say it again! Say ‘Papa’!
papa! *he giggles, clapping his little hands and babbling slightly*
A: He’s so cute!
C: He is! *he reaches and takes the baby from Angie.* Angie,
go hop in the car. But go in the back seat this time – babies can’t be in the
front seat.
A: Okay, papa! *she gets up and starts to go for the car.*
*he stops giggling when he sees Angie start leaving* an-gee..! *he clings to Carlos’ coat and yawns*
*Carlos follows her and stands by the door, waiting for her to get buckled in. He then leans down to hand Max to her.* Here you go – make sure to hold onto him. I’ll drive slowly.
A: Okay, papa. *she smiles and holds her arms out for Max*
*he yawns again and tiredly clings to Angie, making seemingly random noises*
*Carlos gets into the driver’s seat and then starts the car before pulling away from the camp.* How’s he doing back there?
A: He looks a little sleepy, papa.
*he whimpers slightly and looks out the window as Carlos drives off* ..?
A: Oh, Maxy, it’s okay! Papa’s driving us to the store to get you lots of cool stuff!
C: Like diapers! Those are a must, I suppose. I wonder if they have small packs instead of the massive boxes… I hope so.
*he laughs and claps, looking over when the car pulls up, making random excided noises when he sees Carlos* papa! papa!
*Carlos blinks and scrunches his eyebrows in confusion as he

*he shrugs* i could ask her sometime…. have you ever met anyone who could turn into an animal? like a werewolf?
Well, I have heard of a woman who turned into a lizard as a gift because of her donation to the local college. But… that’s about it, I think.
a lizard? *he tilted his head slightly and looked at Carlos* that’s weird.. well, i mean i guess it could be helpful though, drop something under the couch? just turn into a lizard and grab it! *he chuckles*
No, I mean… she’s a lizard forever. She’s actually at the police station now back home, sort of as a pet/evidence. She has a stick now though, so that’s cool.
*he laughs and claps, looking over when the car pulls up, making random excided noises when he sees Carlos* papa! papa!
*Carlos blinks and scrunches his eyebrows in confusion as he

“It’s night time,” Carlos responded. “You’re in a forest,
buddy. One at the base of Sleepy Peak Peak.” He offered the man a canteen of
water. “Here… have a drink. Are you hurt at all?”
*Max
waved as he ran towards the mess hall, and after a quick lunch, he went
back to his tent, grabbing his notebook and drawing while waiting for
Carlos*
*Carlos comes back later than what would have probably been
expected. His car drives up the way and parks near the mess and the flagpole.
He hops out running over to Max.* Sorry! I thought the Volcano was doing
something and I lost track of time – I’m sorry I’m a little late!
*he rubbed his eyes and looked up at the other* oh it’s.. *he chuckled slightly, setting his notebook aside as he got up* it’s alright! you’re now, right? let me just put my book away and we can go
You wanna bring it? I’ll be driving, and it’s a little bit
to head into town.
*he thinks for a moment and shrugs, tucking it under his arm and smiling*
*Carlos grins* Alright, let’s go! *he heads to his car and
opens the front passenger door for Max* Make sure to get your seatbelt on,
kiddo.
*he climbs into the front seat and nods* alright *he reachs up and puts his seatbelt on, already drawing by the time Carlos get behind the wheel*
*Carlos gets in and puts his own seatbelt on before starting
the car. He starts to drive down the road away from the camp* Do you know if
your girlfriend has any allergies?
*he thinks before shaking his head* not that i know of.. can dice even be allergic to anything? even if she’s human now…
*Carlos glances at him, confused* Dice? Or, you mean a die?
As in singular? Why are you calling her ‘dice’?
*doesn’t look up from his drawing* oh, Darcy was a 20 sided die before magic was brought to the camp! she has siblings like her, like Hattie was a hat!
She is? Huh, that’s… that’s… well, I’ve heard of people
being turned into antiques. But I haven’t really heard of the opposite, where
objects become people. But that’s interesting. I wonder what it’s like being a
D20…
