Carlos went out into the storm with his equipment, since the weather was really interesting around Sleepy Peak Peak (what, with Spooky island and that one side of the lake always being covered in dark, foreboding clouds).

As he approached one of the locations of a lightning strike however he paused, seeing a person on the ground. Oh no – did it strike someone?

Carlos hurried over and dropped his equipment to the side to start inspecting the body for life.

“He-hello? Hello, can you hear me? Sir?”

J: “Science… ‘m Jon..” he shifted uncomfortably “M-Mind if I pass out now..?”

“Yes, I mind very much,” Carlos said. “I need to get you somewhere safe. Camp Campbell is nearby – I can get you there to help patch you up. Stay awake, okay?”

“He-hello? Hello, can you hear me? Sir?”

he groaned weakly, barely opening his eyes before trying to sit up “Where am I.. What happened-” he hissed in pain, tightly holding his side as blood started to soak through his clothes

Oh, thank God – he’s alive.

“You’re in a forest… you may have been struck by lightning. Where do you hurt? Where’s the wound?”

Carlos went through the pockets of his labcoat for some fresh rubber gloves and his first aid kit.

J: “Everywhere and maybe..” he glanced at the other and squinted slightly “… Why are their two of You..? What world is this..” he sighed softly, putting a trembling hand on his head as he curled his tail around himself

Carlos frowned at him. “No, there’s one of me,” he said. “You may have hit your head. You’re in Sleepy Peak – or, the forest next to the town. I’m not sure what this universe’s designation is though, if that’s what you’re asking.”

Carlos snapped on his gloves. “Okay. Let’s try and find the source of the blood…” He started to reach for the other’s shirt, but stopped. “May I? You look like you’re bleeding from your side, but I want to know if you’re okay with me examining.”

J: “If You think You can stop it then go ahead..” he leans back slightly, glancing around “.. Where’s lightening..? There was none a minute ago..”

“The storm stopped,” Carlos said. “Or, at least it receded back to the island and that other camp on the other side of the lake.” He lifted the other man’s shirt as carefully as he could, looking for the wound among the sticky blood making the shirt cling to his skin.

J: he shuddered slightly, there was a noticible gash on his side. “I-Is it bad..?” he mumbled as he looked away, a worried expression resting on his face

Carlos hesitated to answer for a moment. “Pretty bad. I need to put pressure on this – have a lie down for a second.” Carlos went for his first aid kit and started to grab gauze and bandages. How it all fit in his little kit was anyone’s guess, because he pulled out a lot.

J: he leaned his head back before laying down with a hiss in pain “F-Fucking hell.. Can’t catch a br-break can I..?” his tail twitches as he puts an arm under his head

Carlos cleaned the wound as best as he could and he quickly applied a generous amount of gauze, taping it down tightly to keep as much pressure on the open wound as possible.

“Do you know what happened? What’s your name?”

J: “What happened..?” he glanced away as he tried to think “I was walking.. Then everything got bright… Then pain then darkness then.. Here…” he let out a shakey breath, running a hand through his hair “N-Names…”

“Yes, your name,” Carlos said to him. “I’m Carlos, by the way. I’m a scientist.”

Carlos, Dan has the Impostor distracted. Now’s the perfect time to get Max out of there!

*hurries into the apartment behind Dan* to look for Max*

“Okay, I have good news & bad news. The good news is that I managed to knock out that son of a bitch. The bad news is that I have no idea when he’ll wake up so we have to get Max out of here now.”

“Gotcha. Where do you think he hid him? MAX! Max, where are you?”

“You. Your imposter has my kid. I need you to get him back.”

“He what!?”

“Don’t worry; I’m already planning on kicking that impostor’s ass after I rescue Max.” Dan reached into his pockets & took out his brass knuckles. “Do you know where they are right now?”

@the-perfect-scientist

“We could…wait, I think the brass knuckles I have are laced with iron.”

“As
for if he’s a Christian demon, I have no idea. I only found this out
recently & the only info I got was that he was a demon; nothing
specific was said about what type of demon he is.”

“I mean, I’ve dealt with demons before, but I thought I was done with this bullshit. Guess I was wrong…”

“In my experience, dealing with something like this just means that you gain experience, not that it’s done forever. But that’s okay – we know in theory what to do.”

“We’ll just throw whatever we have at him and hope for the best, as realistically that’s what we can do.”

image

“I guess. I just can’t wait until I don’t have to deal with him anymore…”

image

“I’m sick & tired of him ruining my life all the time. It’s bad enough that I already have weird shit happening to me when he’s not involved.”

image

“I mean, I’ve already dealt with werewolves, dinosaurs, annoying mummies, and even a superhero who wrecked my car without bothering to apologize or pay for repairs. But this…this is just insane!”

“Honestly, Dan, I feel you. Not in quite the same way, but I’ve had experiences that could be considered the same caliber. Librarians are pretty monstrous where I live, and I was nearly killed in a miniature underground city by its inhabitants when I went to say hello.”

image

“Wait, what? What the hell kind of place do you live in? I go to the library often & the librarians can be annoying & unhelpful at times but they aren’t monsters.”

image

“Anyway, we’re here.” Dan stopped in front of the apartment complex before taking out the box of miniature explosives & peering in through the window. “He’s still in there…good. Time for Phase 2…”

“What the hell kind of place do you live in?” Carlos responded.

He followed Dan and stood crouched nearby. “Phase 2,” he repeated. “Okay.”

“You. Your imposter has my kid. I need you to get him back.”

@the-perfect-scientist

“I
don’t think so. I mean, the first time he broke into my apartment he
actually cleaned the place up. Apparently, I have no idea how to keep my
home clean so he decided to tidy up while also looking through my
personal belongings. Either way it was weird as hell.”

“But
the weirdest thing…the weirdest thing that he did to me was dress up as
my cat Mr. Mumbles. I’m not even kidding; the guy put on a cat onesie
that looked eerily similar to my cat just to make it seem like I was on
drugs or something when I told Chris & Elise.”

“What… a fucking weirdo,” Carlos said. “I”m sorry, I just… that is messed up on so many levels, and every moment I’m learning something new about this freak. Somehow, I keep getting surprised. Though this also tells me he might be trying to manipulate Max too like he did you.”

“I honestly wouldn’t doubt that. But what I don’t understand is why he keeps annoying the hell out of me!”

“I mean, sure, he got arrested because the police thought he was me, but that was his fault for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

“And now that I found out that he’s a literal demon, that just makes it like ten times worse. It’s a good thing I know how to make holy water, because at this point we’re definitely going to need lots of it.”

“A ‘literal demon’??”

“I should probably have brought my Demon Repelling/Dance Exercise (In More Ways Than One) instruments with me, then. Is he a Christian demon? We could try invoking the name of Christ to help ward him. Maybe some iron brass knuckles or even rings would be great.”
