“Carlos I refuse to stay here all summer.” Maria huffed arms crossed over her chest, stomping her foot. The 10 year old was not pleased at all by this. (Camp Camp AU~)

“Well, you have to stay because I’m staying here,” Carlos said, rolling his eyes. “C’mon, it’ll be fun – there’s loads of activities here – I’m sure you’ll find something to like!”

“Carlos, don’t be lame.” Maria whined. “David weirds me out. He’s too happy.”

Carlos shrugged. “Yeah… but he’s legitimately harmless. Just humor him. But not too much or he’ll get over excited. He’s like a golden retriever  mixed with a stick-bug. Also, I am not lame.”

“What the frick does that even mean, hermano?” She asked with a sigh. “Let’s go deal with the dog stick man then.”

“I mean that he’s skinny,” Carlos told her. “And be nice to him – he’s really a good guy.”

Carlos walked ahead and pushed open the door for Maria to carry her stuff in.

*he shifts slightly, looking out the window* I-I’m cold…

Try to stay awake, Max. Talk to me, okay? I’ll get you to a doctor soon and they’ll take care of you.

*he pulls the coat around himself tighter, shaking softly* i don’t th-the doctors…

What is it, Max? What do you want me to tell them?

tell ‘em to be less.. weird and creepy…

Weird and creepy…? *starts the car and starts driving*

*he nods, glancing at Carlos*

What exactly do you mean, Max? How are they being weird?

*he looks out the window again, mumbling something about ‘scary’*

I’ll be with you, Max, I promise. I’ll take care of you.

*he hesitantly nods* o-okay..

Keep talking to me, Max. We’re almost there.

h-how close are we..? *he shifts again*

Almost there. What do you like to do, Max? What do you like to read, or watch? *they weren’t actually as close as he’d like but he wanted to keep Max busy*

*he shakes his head slightly* i-i don’t watch or r-read alot of stuff.. mostly just vines.. b-but i like drawing i guess..

Okay. What did you draw recently? Can you tell me about that? *just five more minutes.*

Heck yeah, absolutely! Going to the store!

*Max shook his head and managed to pick up the basket again* I got it.

Okay. Ah, here we go… *he picks up one of the 4-pack packages of Kit-Kats* Alright. I think we’re done here.

Cool. *Max held out the basket so Carlos could put the kit-kats in*

*Carlos sets the Kit-Kats in the basket and starts for the check-out stands. He keeps an eye on Max to see if he needed any help.*

*he followed Carlos, dragging the basket for a sec before picking it up.*

*They reach the check out and Carlos reaches to grab the soda bottle and put it on the belt*

*max put the mentos and kit-kats on the belt* this is gonna be fuckin’ cool.

I don’t agree with the expression, but I agree with the sentiments. *Carlos smiles at him* Yeah, it’ll be cool.

We’ll we have to clean up or will it be fine on it’s own?

How do you mean?

Like, when it explodes ‘n crap, will we need to clean that up?

Not if we do it outside. We might need to clean ourselves up, but the soda will be okay. It’ll probably be better for the environment than that lake water, anyway…

Yeah, the water sucks.

*Carlos puts his card in the chip reader to pay for the things* You ever find anything in that lake? Weird creatures or… I dunno, dead ones?

*he shrugged* ‘dunno. I don’t pay attention.

Hm… okay. I should pick up some more bottled water soon to leave at the camp. Can’t have you and Angela getting sick. *the chip reader yells at him to take the card out, and so he did*

“Carlos, I don’t like theater stuff. What did mom and dad even sign me up for?!” Maria asked, almost looking concerned.

“Uh… I’ll have to look at your file.” He honestly didn’t know. “This is a multi-activity camp though, so I think you can do pretty much anything you want.”

The girl groaned, this summer was gonna suck. “I better or else I’m just going to whine at you – That kid just said a bad word! Am I allowed to swear here Carlos?! Please say yes.”

“You’re only allowed to pseudo-swear,” Carlos told her. “Like saying ‘fudge’ or frick’. I honestly prefer fudge. Anyway, let’s go to the Mess Hall. David’s got a video for you to watch.”

“I have to sleep in a tent with no air conditioning and no tv and none of my friends!” She protested loudly. “I wanna go home!”

“Wow, am I not your friend?” Carlos asked. “Look, I promise that this will be fun! And I gotta stay to make money for school so I can’t take you home.”

“You’re my brother, you don’t count.” The girl sighed, looking at the other few campers there. “That kid is dressed like an astronaut… and that kid is dressed like a wizard.”

“Maybe that’s the theater section of the camp. Do you think you could go for some theater?”
