Heck yeah, absolutely! Going to the store!

Maybe I dunno. QM might have some.

I don’t think we should use anything that the Quartermaster has. We’ll see if there’s a funnel or something while we’re out.

One chicken bear and suddenly he’s unreliable? wow okay.

I get the feeling there’s more than just the chicken-bear going on with that guy, Max.

Like a chicken moose or something?

I…. maybe? I don’t know. But what sort of person makes a teddy bear out of raw chicken?

“Hmmmm
might be fun for the boys. I think they will enjoy it. I know they will
try to hide one on the ship. I always find some critter at some point.
Thankfully all harmless…”

Carlos grinned. “A cow might not be a good idea. They’re farm animals, so they’re property – we don’t have any wild cows. And then, they’re a bit bigger than John Wayne is, so it’ll be tough to sneak one of them in.”

Edwardo just looked at Carlos. “I… I’d think that they’re more than ‘a bit’ bigger than John Wayne, Carlos…”

“The space whale, Dad,” Carlos explained. “Or… maybe Wayne’s just as big as a cow, or bigger now if he’s grown… I’m referencing the size he was I last saw him.”

Yondu grins and pulls out his pocket pad and hands it to carlos. “There’s your boy. A little bigger but still a wee baby. Oh how he was looking for you. I’d almost say you imprinted on him.”

Carlos took the tablet and looked. “Oh… he’s so big!” Carlos said. He tilted it toward his Dad, who wanted to look as well. “You were saying that he’d imprinted or something on me before, didn’t you?” Carlos then asked Yondu. “When we were discussing you coming over…”

“Yup. He’s imprinted on you. They do that. Big daddy imprinted on me but he was a adult at the time. It’s different with one so young. It means you have a special connection.”

Carlos looked at Yondu. “What… really?” he asked. “Is… my not being there with him going to hurt him any? I mean… is… is his species prone to depression or… anything?”

Yondu smiles. “He misses you greatly… but his parents are helping him cope. He’s young.”

Carlos nodded and sighed, in almost relief. “That’s… that’s very good,” he said. “I hope he’s going to be okay.”

“ i know he was crying when he couldn’t find you but he stopped when I flew out there and played a bit with him and gave him a few hugs.”

Carlos nodded again. “That’s good. Thank you… I wish I knew how to help him understand … you know?”

“Hmmmm could always give him a picture. Hehe… just a thought. Like those paper like pictures.”

Carlos chuckled. “Yeah, we could try giving him one,” he said. “But space whales don’t exactly have pockets…“

“Hmmmmm he just misses you. But he’ll move on I’m sure though he’ll get upset in know.”

Carlos hummed and nodded. “Yeah…” He still felt awful about it. But as long as he knew that the baby whale was going to be okay… maybe he could get over it himself.

“Maybe I should’ve given you a regular plastic drone for you to start learning to pilot, instead of a vibranium one with thrusters.

Carlos chuckled, a little anxiously. “Yeah, probably,” he said. He didn’t dare touch the remote anymore and he just held it awkwardly in his hands, waiting for Stark to take it back.

Tony grinned, “It’s vibranium, the stuff Captain America’s shield is made of.” He stepped as close as possible to Carlos.  “Formulas are nothing but easy to write out script unless the people trying to make them usable step out of their anylitical comfort zone an actually use them in real life,” he admonished.

“I know, sir,” Carlos said, to him. “It’s just, uh, vibranium’s pretty expensive stuff, to say the least. I don’t want to just… damage the components and make it a useless hung of metal. And I’m not trained in piloting. Honestly, I’m still surprised you let me in on a delicate project like this, considering it’s for your work with the Avengers…”
