Why the hell – Max? Max, where are you buddy? I need to know how you’re feeling.

@dedmaxsearchhistory

.. you need to know if i’m feeling? that’s.. a weird way to phrase that..

“How”. I need to know “How” you’re feeling. Do you feel sick at all?

not really.. *he put a hand on his stomach*

You don’t feel sick? That’s… weird. What kind of paint was it?

i dunno, it didn’t have a label

Okay… um, where’s the container? I might be able to identify it. I’m a scientist, after all.

Carlos laughed suddenly as he tossed his pants over onto a dresser. “You trying to say I’m fat?” he accused teasingly.

He crawled right into the bed and pulled himself right up next to Hancock. He then slid an arm around the ghoul’s waist to hold him and started to gently rub his back, trying to help him warm up a bit now that they were under the covers.

“What? I would never.” He chuckled as he pulled Carlos down faster and immediately clung to him. Grinning, the ghoul began peppering his face with kisses and threw a leg over the other man. “Mmmm…. you’re really warm, y’know. S’nice.”

Carlos chuckled. “Glad I’m good for something,” he joked. His hand came up to touch Hancock’s cheek and guide the ghoul’s mouth to his own so they could kiss where Carlos really wanted to.

Carlos shook his head. “None whatsoever,” he told Hancock and he pressed a kiss to the ghoul’s mouth. “I need a bit of time to freshen up, if that’s okay.” Carlos had a sweater vest and shirt that he’d gotten and was saving for an occasion like this. It didn’t seem like Hancock’s style, but it was Carlos’ and he was hoping to look nice. And that Hancock would appreciate it.

Freshen up? Now it really does sound like a date.” Hancock winked and leaned in for one last kiss before he pulled away. “Go on then, take all the time ya need freshening up, I’ll be right here.”

Carlos tried not to grin too hard or seem to eager as he squeezed Hancock’s hand before running off to clean and dress up. Thankfully he’d had the foresight to trim his beard, but his hair did need to be brushed and his face washed.

But eventually Carlos came back, fresh as the morning wearing the shirt and vest. Even as he walked out though, he started to worry that he might be over-dressed.

“Yeah? So what if I don’t have people for the holidays? What the hell does it matter to you?”

“I come in for one glass of wine and then leave.”

“I see. Well, that’s okay, some people just aren’t party people. What do you do during the holidays, when other businesses are usually taking time off? I’m pretty sure even villains – not you, but the clientele – often take it easy.”

Carlos frowned at him. “Well, since you ask, I feel bad knowing that someone I know is going to be alone this holiday season. Are Flug, Dementia, and Fives not sticking around? Or the hatbots even?” Maybe the ‘bots would be too busy working, but the others… did they even have families?

“I do not consider them my family, what they do matters not to me.”

“Well, I’m not saying they’re family. Friends, at least. Coworkers. Even a work-party with them might be nice, do you think?”

“They do have a party for themselves. I just don’t join.”

“It doesn’t have anything to offer you, huh?”
