Okay, Max? I’ve had some time to think about your punishment.

punishment-? oh.. oh yeah… okay

*nods* Yeah. So… first, I’m going to ask that you not play video games for a while. I’m thinking a week.

*raises a brow* alright… what else?

Well, you’re also going to need to be under close supervision. You can’t go anywhere without an adult telling you it’s okay. You want to go someplace, you ask me first, okay?

*he sighs and crosses his arms* okay- wait, but what if i need to go somewhere but i can’t find you? can i ask another adult?

*frowns slightly* Is there another adult that knows what you did? I know this is harsh, Max, but this is a punishment. Who… who else is in charge of you, by the way? I mean, at camp?

not as harsh as other punishments in my life– there’s not really anyone at camp that actually know me, but Jon and Reid are adults that kinda know what i did! they kinda take care of me..

Jon and Reid… do you trust them? I should probably talk to them if they take care of you for… I guess the majority of the time. Especially when I’m working with the volcano…

Jon? yeah i trust him, but Reid? i wouldn’t trust him with a penny. i don’t know where Jon is, probably at work, but Reids in his bunker working with a ‘client’

… a ‘client’. The way you said it with the apostrophes… I’m not sure I like it. I should talk to Jon then at some point. So lemme know when he gets back from work.

Okay, Max? I’ve had some time to think about your punishment.

“Oh- I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to run into you. I don’t want any trouble I promise, I just –” Carlos paused when recognition dawned on him. “Oh, um… hello again. Um… Kiara, right?” ((fallout au — i made him misremember her name on purpose ;3 I hope this is ok))

There’s a small moment of confusion on her face before it is replaced with the same recognition. Kira smiles a bit, impressed that he remembered her at all.

Even if incorrectly, it was close enough.

“Kira, but yeah.” She nods happily, “It’s been awhile, I honestly didn’t expect to see you ever again!” A small giggle escapes her, “I’m afraid I cannot recall your name, I’m horrible with names. But I remember, from Concord right?”

Carlos smiled slightly. “I might,” he said. He reached his
hand up to shift his bag to push his point. “Um… I think I picked up what looks
like a tray of some kind, and some instruments. I thought I could sell them for
materials, but if they’re good and you can find a use for them…” He tried to
think if he had any more bags too. Well, there was one, but it had a hole poked
in it. Duct tape might fix it, but he wasn’t sure if that’s what Kira wanted to
do with it.

“Do you…. Would you like to have a look?”

He seemed rather sweet, she could see it in his smile. Kira trusted him though she didn’t know the first thing about this man

“Oh? Is that so? That sounds interesting for sure. I could use replacements if they’re the right kind. Just in case you know?” Kira smiles, distributing her weight onto one hip.

When asked, Kira’s face brightened up, smiling widely, “Yeah actually! If you want, you can come to my office so you can have a seat. It’s always awkward having to dig through stuff when you don’t have space eh?” She mentions, she could even possibly buy some stuff for Sun too depending on what he carried.

“Come along, Carlos.” She beckons him before turning on a heel and heading towards her ‘office’.

Carlos looked after her, but he nodded and zipped his bag up again before following her. “A- um, alright!” he said.

This was good – at least the salvage he had could go to what they were meant to be used for. It hurt a little bit, selling the salvage when it just was going to be melted or pounded down to raw materials. But this way, specialized pre-war design would continue to be used and maybe he’d get a few more caps out of it as well.

He felt alright going with her. Most of the shops were open-air, and considering they were in a city he thought that he’d be safe enough. “So, uh… what sort of things do you do here? Like, I mean… what’s your job like?” Carlos was a bit curious, but he mostly wanted to just start some kind of conversation.

Okay, Max? I’ve had some time to think about your punishment.

Heh,
yeah. *he pulls one of the pods from his hoodie pocket, squeezing it a
little* how do these things even work? Does the plastic disolve? Does it
pop from the pressure of the water?

Oh – so the plastic is supposed to dissolve with water, and as the water moves it also rubs it against clothes so friction breaks it open faster. Warmer water is preferred as things dissolve in it faster, but it depends on what your fabrics need I think.

Hm. Cool.

*looks at Max, surprised, but then smiles* I’m glad that you think so!

Mhm. I’ve always wanted to try and throw one to see how hard I needed to throw it so it would pop, it never worked before.

I don’t know if throwing it with just your hand would do it… maybe with a slingshot. The pods need to be sturdy enough to be jostled around in their containers during transport to stores and to homes.

Maybe. ‘Could probably make-shift a slingshot and try that too, y’know, for science.

Heh… yeah, for science. Though I dunno about leaving splats of detergent in nature. Something might come along and try to lick it up…

Yeah, you’re probably right.

If we can find some berries or something, then we can do that. Or maybe I can make some environment-friendly pellets? Hm… Hum, hum, hum…

what would berries have to do with how hard you need to throw a tidepod before it pops?

I’m talking in regards to the slingshot, if… you wanted to play with that. We’d have to have a controlled environment for shooting Tidepods. But… I suppose that’s a discussion for another time, since we’re working on this… Where should we do it? By the fire pit?

Okay, Max? I’ve had some time to think about your punishment.

Peter
takes his seat as the food was served and he takes a few bites and
stops a moment swallowing as he just stares at the food then starts
eating again. It was just like his moms cooking.

Yondu starts shoving food in his mouth mostly the meat and grins. “I vote we need pigs in space if they taste like this..”

“I thought a Yawn Beast was pretty similar,” Carlos pointed out. “At least… seasoned kind of similarly. Though I only had it once back on M-Marvin-45.”

“I could send you boys home with some that I made,” Mr Ramon said with a smile as he finished up the last bit of cooking. He brought more sausages to the table as well as the rest of the pancakes he made. “I have my own special recipe for them and I enjoy making the links myself. Anyway, here you are – eat as much as you like.”

Kraglin was very quiet as he ate, taking his usual ‘shadow’ presence when he was out with Yondu. Silent, but always watching.

But he was really liking the ‘pancakes’. He hadn’t had a pastry this fluffy for quite some time.

Yondu grins. “I’ll enjoy my return trips all the more. Right boys?” Looks to peter and kraglin.

Peter just keeps in-naturally silent as he eats a pancake.

Yondu hums and turns to Kraglin who was equallybsilent but that was nothing new. “Humf. Fine… more sausage for me then.” Looks to carlos and smiles.

Kraglin just narrowed his eyes at Yondu as he put another bit of sausage into his mouth with the tiny pitchfork-like utensil.

Carlos nudged Yondu with a roll of his eyes. “Don’t be an ass,” he chided fondly, smiling a bit.

Carlos quickly turned his head up to look
at Hancock properly. “It doesn’t have to be like that! I promise, it doesn’t!”
he exclaimed. “You didn’t fuck anything up, I absolutely promise! It – It was –
I almost did, but I promise I – I’ll get… I’ll get better!”

Carlos’ eyes started to drift down to
Hancock’s chest as he tried to gather his thoughts together. God, his words –
they were just all over the place in his head and he couldn’t string something
coherent for the life of him!

“Or, I mean, I’ll learn to – or- or,
actually… F—Augh, ¡¡Hijo de puta!! No
seas un maldito imbécil!! ¡Mierda palabras estúpidas!”

Carlos clutched Hancock’s hand in his,
looking up at the other with a frustrated determination.

I’m
not leaving you over this!
” he stated firmly. “I won’t do that to you!
O-okay?” Please be okay with that, please be okay with that, please be okay
with that – God, Carlos’ head was starting to hurt now he was so stressed.

“Don’t leave! Look – I’m not asking you to leave! Please, I –“
Carlos stopped himself. Hancock was talking so calmly to him, and he was
freaking out. Dammit, that was not good – he was just going to scare the other
man. Carlos shut his eyes and tried to take a few deep breaths. He squeezed
Hancock’s hand, not wanting the other to slip out of his grip. He just… he needed
to calm down and try not to unnerve the other.

“P-please, Hancock, don’t go.” He swallowed. Carlos had
opened his eyes, but he wasn’t really able to look Hancock in the face –
instead he was staring at their hands. Mostly Hancock’s hand, as it was
visually more interesting. “I… I’m sorry. I wanted to be honest, not… not make
you… leave. I want you here. I wanna try this. I want to try to have a relaxing
night with you, and…” Carlos made a low, sad groaning sound. “I’m so sorry… I
didn’t mean to freak you out, I just…” He wasn’t sure what to tell Hancock. He
let out an unhappy sigh. “I’m sorry I’m terrible…”
