Will it? Oh, that’s good to hear!

*tiny grabby hands* an-gee! an-gee!

*Carlos hands him off to Angie and starts to clean up. He wipes his hands clean with some upholstery wipes he had and ties up the trash bag before getting back into the driver’s seat.* Okay, let’s go!

*he giggles and looks out the window again, watching the world pass by*

*they all soon arrive at the store and Carlos found a parking spot on the street. He got out and opened the door for Angie.*

C: Okay – c’mere, Max! *he reaches for the baby*

pap! pap papa! *he laughs and reachs for Carlos*

*Carlos picks him up and Angie hops out, closing the door behind her. Together they head to the store.* So… diapers, teething ring, maybe a bit of food…

Carlos smiled at him. “I like spoiling you when I can,” he
told the ghoul as he sat down beside him with his own bowl and chopsticks. “And
I actually didn’t go anywhere. While I was bartering with Daisy and giving her
some orders to fill, I asked if she could have one of her runners pop into
Diamond City for a couple bowls of noodles.” He gently nudged Hancock’s elbow
affectionately and then just decided to lean in and kiss his cheek.

“Heh, well, I have to say, that’s a first.” Hancock smiled, giving Carlos a little nudge back then turning his head to intercept the cheek kiss with a proper kiss instead. “You’re sweet. What did I ever do to get lucky enough to find you, hmm? I don’t deserve such a good guy.”

Carlos smiled sheepishly at him. “You’re too kind,” he said softly. “And really… I could ask the same thing. I thought I’d be one of those guys who never got with anyone. You live with only forty people in a vault, it’s highly likely that you won’t be compatible with anyone.”

“This will do great – I can tell which screws go where,”
Carlos told him, giving him a smile. “Thanks!” He started to undo screws on the
piece and dropped them into the bowl.

“About the cars… I get sad because they don’t run. Now they’re just miniature nuclear reactors
waiting to go off because they can’t be properly contained. And without working
parts… they’re of course completely useless.”

“Oh, I gotcha.” He shrugged, not quite getting what the issue was, but he assumed if he was as smart as the other man was, he’d probably feel the same way. As it was, Hancock saw cars more as a means to find quick cover or simply an annoying obstacle to climb over than anything. “I wonder sometimes what it was like back then, everyone drivin’ around in shit like that, but then I see one explode and I don’t mind so much that I don’t get to ride around in one, I’d rather keep all my remaining parts attached, heh.”

Carlos looked at him. “I’m guessing you’ve never had the opportunity to see a film, huh?” he asked. “I’ve only seen working cars from the film archives in the Vault. It all looks so flashy and calm – being able to travel great distances in relative leisure, a great big rumbling machine under you… I thought it looked great. You’re not the only one who wonders what it really was like. It seems like it was definitely taken for granted back then, before the war.”

Carlos turned back to carefully unscrew just about anything he saw, dropping screws and small pieces into the bowl one by one.

“Yeah……
but you know….. some days I just… I think….. what Stakar said to me…..
how…. he said I did it for the money… that if it was from the goodness
of my heart I wouldn’t have taken the money…. I just…… was I just
greedy….. or….. not……. I just….. It’s hard….. …. hardest was being
abandoned…. again…… I.. was lost…. I still am…… you saw my ship… she’s
falling apart….. you look at the other ravager ships …. so different….
we don’t have enough jobs or credits to fix shit…..soon I’ll just be
captain of scrap metal…”

“You were UBER-ing kids across the Galaxy,” Carlos said. “It’d be foolish not to charge something with fuel and power to consider. I… I really find it hard to believe that this Stakar person wouldn’t understand that. As for greed… well, what can one expect from Ravagers? But Yondu, I know you – you would never hurt a child intentionally. This Ego person… he sounds highly manipulative and, obviously, has committed serial filicide. You can’t blame yourself for his intentions and actions.”

Frowns. “What’s a ubering? But… regardless…. that’s how Stakar dealt with it.” Looks at him and rolls a bit grabbing him to snuggle nuzzling into his neck.

Carlos made a noise, surprised by the sudden affection, but he put an arm around Yondu comfortingly. “I’m sorry… for everything that happened.” He started to rub Yondu’s back.

“I meant ‘taxiing’. Ubers… they’re a thing on Earth that are like taxis, but more flexible and convenient.”

“Heh…. you Terrans are so weird..” Smiles a bit pressing close and sighs relaxing nuzzling against his chest closing his eyes. He was a secret cuddler and proved it by snuggling pressing as close as he could to carlos.

“It’s a brand name,” Carlos said. “That might be why it didn’t translate over that well.” He leaned his head in against Yondu’s. “I want to still be friends, Yondu. I really do. I don’t… I don’t want to give up all that’s happened in space. I want to be able to talk to you and to the boys. And, I dunno… maybe having someone from Earth that he could talk to would help Peter out a bit as he grows up?”

Yondu nods clutching just a bit tighter to him. Damn this terran for making him so sentimental. “I…. Ok….. not sure how well the coma will work over the larger distances but… we can.. test them and…. hopefully allow us to…. communicate….even a little.”

“And even if comms don’t work, there’s still just the space-mailing with electronic text messages,” Carlos said. He smiled slightly. “We call it ‘email’.”

“Yeah… there is that. But you can’t make fun of my spelling. Heh.” Nuzzles him and sighs. “I don’t …. do goodbyes well…… I hate them…….. especially when…. we’ll…. you know….”

Carlos nodded slightly. He bumped his head gently against Yondu’s. “But it’s not forever… we’ll still talk to each other. I’ll send recordings of stuff on Earth, and maybe some music that Peter might like.”

hey d- Carlos, sense you already meet Darcy, do you wanna come to our wedding when we get married? *he smiles*

@dedmaxsearchhistory

huh… have you ever seen anyone turn into a zombie? do you think zombies could become real?

*frowns slightly* I’ve never seen that. And honestly… I’m not sure. Traditional Zombies, probably not. But… one could say that you are sort of a zombie… right?

….. oh yeah… life is weird

… Was that a joke?

*he.. looks confused* joke..?

You’re not technically alive so… I thought you were making a joke by saying ‘life’. I’m sorry…

*he blinks* it’s alright.. i often forget that i’m not really ‘alive’ anymore too…

You’re alive in the important ways.
