I mean, I have to I guess. But I had no idea – you guys are just kids, aren’t you??
*he smiles slightly* really?
Absolutely, Max. You can even exchange rings if you guys
really wanted to.

Carlos: *picks up @max-searchhistory* This is my new son.
Carlos: *picks up @dedmaxsearchhistory* This is also my new son. He’s a rescue.
W hA t
Hi, ‘W hA t’. I’m Dadlos.
That doesn’t make any sense.
It’s a dad joke. It doesn’t have to make sense 🙂
I- dammit you’re right
Watch your mouth, young man! ♥ Love you!
I don’t know how to feel about this.. *squint*
*smiles at him* I’m just teasing you, kiddo.
Jeez, okay.
Come here *grabs him and pulls him into a hug*
*he
pulls the piocture out from under his pillow, a tall dark figure
infront of some trees, the figure has large yellow eyes a sewn up mouth,
it’s drawn in crayan and kinda crappy, but Max looks proud of his work*
this is what they look like*Carlos studies the picture.* really… kind of Slender-man-esque. Do they have mouths? I know you drew one here, but is it what you saw?
*he nods* they do have mouths and they have stitches on them *he pointed to his mouth* … what’s slender-man?
Well, never mind about the Slenderman. It’s just a character
from the internet. So shadowy… stitches in the mouth… *he takes his phone out
and sets the picture down to take a picture of it**he nods quietly* i don’t think they like water either.. that or they don’t like our lake…. maybe they can’t swim *he chuckles slightly*
Well, then who let them off of Spooky Island? *he laughs
nervously.* So they don’t like water… Okay. I’m not a supernatural scientist,
but I’ll see what I can come up with. The water thing is interesting… some
spirits I’ve heard have an issue with going across water. Or is that covered
bridges? In any case, there’s research that needs to be done.*he flinches at the thunder* w-why would they be on.. over there? and, do you know any supernatural scientists? maybe they could help, or even already know a way to get rid of them!
Nevermind. I don’t know anyone personally… but I can still
look around and ask people in my community. I’ll let you know what I can find
out though, I promise Max.
I mean, I have to I guess. But I had no idea – you guys are just kids, aren’t you??
yup, but we love each other! i don’t really know why age matters when you love someone..
That’s… more for adults than kids, Max. Your guys’ brain
literally isn’t fully developed for decision-making. That’s why people spend
18-22 years with their parents before moving out.*he frowns* but i’ve been both those ages and i still wanted to marry Darcy!
Because of Grey-faces, huh? You didn’t spend nearly enough
time as those ages though.I’m sorry, Max, but I’m just concerned. And… how do you
think you’re legally going to get married?*he starts to say something but realises Carlos’ point, he looks at the ground as he thinks* maybe… we could get the Anons to turn us into adults, then we’d get married and turn back to kids!
*sighs* Max… you’re both still going to be children. It might not even stick.
*he frowns but nods slightly* ..o-okay…
*he frowns too. He didn’t really wanna break the kid’s
heart* But… there are things that kids can do. There are commitment ceremonies
and friendship ceremonies… not really legally binding like marriage would be,
but it’s something that can be on paper.
yeah! *he chuckles, clapping his hands excidedly*
Alright! *Carlos knelt down beside Max.* Get in close, buddy.
*he leans in close and smiles*
*takes a picture of both of them.* Great! *he shows the picture to Max*
*he chuckles and looks at the picture* i know the perfect stickers for you!
Oh yeah? *grins*
“Welp,” arsenic asked “weres the hotel?”
Carlos smiled at them. He changed over to Google maps and
looked. “There’s one in Downtown Night Vale next to the Red Lobster.”“See ya.” arsenic said, heading for the hotel.
A few days later, arsenic was hanging out in there hotel room, when they heard an echoing “six…six…six.” over and over again “tripplesix.” gasped arsenic “shes coming for nightvale.”
((Please tell me if im rushing the plot.))
Carlos worked in his lab as usual, helping the Literal Rock
Band record their new single.Arsenic felt like they should tell someone about the fact that tripplesix was coming. They checked there phone (witch runs on an infinite imrobablilty drive from hitchikers giude to the galaxy) and sure enogh, like it always did, the phone had made contacts for the people who would be relevant in there life.
Arsenic consided calling carlos, but they didnt want to scare him, and it had been so long since there version of carlos had been alive that they had forgoten were he lived.
They decided to lurk on the edge of town until they saw carlos, and then, they reasoned they could tell him that tripplesix was coming for nightvale without being creepy.
Things were going well in the lab during the recording
session and Carlos quickly saved the sound onto his computer. He put a sample
on a usb stick and went out to head to the record store to try and see if they’d
be interested in selling their music.Arsenic was lurking around the edeges of nightvale, when they saw carlos.
“CARLOS!” they shouted, runnining up to him “tripplesix is coming for nightvale!” suddenly, the reapeating “six….six…..six” echoing in arseic’s ears got just a teensy bit louder. “Its louder.” arsenic said, there ears going up in alert.
Carlos jumped in shock. He was just outside the records
store when they found him. He looked to them as what they told him caught up. “Wait…
are you saying they followed you?” he asked.
Yondu
smiles watching the scene as another came to the door rolling in a
wheel chair and pushed over to try and get to carlos as well. He just
stood in the shadows as they held on to each other sniffles audible from
the random words of the two. He didn’t want to ruin the reunion just
staying silent and patient.Carlos was forced to move into the house a little bit so his
brother could get a hold of him. He felt a little disassociated at the moment.
It was so surreal to him – he was home. He was home! After a while his Dad finally pulled away. There were tears
in his eyes and he was grinning at Carlos so widely. “Carlos – come inside!
Come inside!”“Yeah… yeah, sure, Dad,” Carlos said. “Oh, um, I brought
someone…” He turned to look back at Yondu, who was standing just far away
enough for his skin color not to be seen.Yondu looks up but kept hidden so as not to scare the two Terrans. “Hey….. “ Yondu nods to them when they turn to see him.
Mikey smiles and rolls back in the house. “Both if you can come in. Yondu follows them inside as they are ushered into the main room to talk. He didn’t remove his hood and kept his hands in his pockets after pulling the hood far enough over his face to hide. It didn’t take long for them to start asking him who he was and why he had his hood up in the rather warm home. He turned to carlos ducking his head when they tried to get a look at him.
Carlos looks at Yondu before looking at his family. “Um, Dad…
Mikey… I need you to keep an open mind… okay?”Mikey was confused, but Mr Ramon was a tad worried. “I…
alright, son. But explain to us where you’ve been all this time.”“I will, I will, promise,” Carlos told him. He took a
breath. “Dad, Mikey… this is Yondu Udonta. He’s… he’s an alien.” Carlos reached
to take Yondu’s arm, giving it a squeeze to prompt him to look up.Yondu glanced around quickly to see if the blinds were all shut and that no one out side could see him then pulls down the hood looking at the two humans. “They won’t be able to understand me without communicators…” pulls out two.
Carlos looked to see what Yondu was holding and he nodded. “Oh,
right… duh.”
“What do you mean he’s an alien, Carlos?” Mr Ramon asked
slowly, obviously not entirely sure what was happening was real. “I had thought
all the aliens had left since what the Avengers did in New York.”
“They did,” Carlos said quickly. “Or, at least those ones did.”
“What did he just say to you?” Mikey asked. “What are those
he handed you?”
“They – they’re removable translators,” Carlos said. “He’s
speaking Kree right now, and of course people here don’t understand Kree.
Honestly I still don’t understand it…”
“Then how does he talk to you if you can’t understand it?”
Mr Ramon asked. “What do you mean ‘translators’ – what do they do?”
Carlos huffed. “Look, can – can we just all go sit down?” he
asked, feeling awkward and put on the spot. “I promise, I’ll start explaining
everything just… as soon as you guys meet Yondu, okay? Dad, here –let me just
put this on.”
Carlos gestured for his dad to come forward and though he
was a bit hesitant, the older man did step a bit closer. Carlos smiled at him
and carefully put the device in place, just in front of his ear. “Here, Mikey,”
Carlos said, doing the same for his brother who helpfully rolled closer to him.
Carlos was taken off-guard, but he merely gave the other a contemplative frown before reaching out to comply. “Uh… alright,” he said.
“Well,
coincidence or not, I think you have a wonderful personality, and I
also think you’re incredibly intelligent, and extremely interesting,”
she praised.
Carlos blinked. He smiled a little bashfully at that. “Well,
um, thank you,” he said. “That’s… very nice of you to say.” She was just a flatterer, wasn’t she?
Carlos was taken off-guard, but he merely gave the other a contemplative frown before reaching out to comply. “Uh… alright,” he said.
She
took in a deep breath as she nodded in agreement, then sighed before
taking a sip of her tea. “Yeah,” she whispered. “It really is…”Carlos smiled at her and took a drink of his coffee. “But it’s
got its own charm too, don’t get me wrong. It just… took a while for people to
even take me seriously. And sometimes, still, people don’t really trust
science.”“That’s really a shame. I mean, I was never really good at science in school, but I always thought all the stuff people could do with science was amazing,” she smiled. “But sometimes the people here just… are afraid of what they don’t understand. So, ya know, maybe they don’t understand what you’re saying, and decide that… the easier route is to get upset with you or say you’re wrong. I’m sure it isn’t you, it’s more… their lack of understanding.”
Carlos nodded. “Yeah… the mountains thing is still a very
hot debate. It also doesn’t really help that the SSP keeps telling people that
we’re comedians.” He shrugged. “I mean, I know my jokes can be punishing, but it’s not like it’s my job
or anything.” He grinned at her.She giggled and shook her head. “That was awful,” she smiled. “Well, that’s a lie, I actually think it was pretty punderful,” she amended, a grin spreading across her face.
Carlos chuckled and smiled at her. “Glad you think so,” he
said. “I was always a class clown. It’s more of a coincidence though, that I’m a scientist as well as funny.”
Carlos was taken off-guard, but he merely gave the other a contemplative frown before reaching out to comply. “Uh… alright,” he said.
She
