Percival gives a small sigh. “Fine fine Carlos, lots go.” He set his glass on the counter.

Carlos signaled the bartender to close the tab and he gave a
couple extra Dragots as a tip. Once that was done he drank the last bit of his
Giggle-water and slid out of his seat. Snickering, he reached for Percival’s
arm.

“He—hee-hee! C-C’mon,
Mr Graves, let’s—heh-heh-heh! – Let’s
go!”

Percy is in the inbox -thegravemistergraves

First three in my inbox get kisses 1/3

Carlos didn’t usually just go around kissing folks. But he was at least safe in the knowledge that Percival wouldn’t just punch him outright. Maybe.

Carlos gently touched the man’s arm to get his attention, and while Percival was turned toward him Carlos got up on his toes a bit and pressed a gentle – just a touch of the lips – kiss to the Director’s mouth.

@thegravemistergraves

Percival finally sighed and just rolled his eyes. He reached forward; hand closing in the other’s shirt and tugged him forward into another kiss.

For a split second Carlos thought that a punch was coming
after all. But when lips touched his he made a little noise and he kissed back,
humming very softly. God, he was such a dork. But it didn’t seem like Percival
minded too much. Carlos tried to relax and let him lead and take what he wanted.

“No….. I… I don’t want him to hate me….. everyone else does…..I’m sorry I hurt half…”

Jamie looks at him and sighs. “It’s ok…. I’ll punch ya later.” Nuzzles against Tullk.

Tullk made a slight face, not really agreeing with Half-nut’s
easy forgiveness. But contention – especially with Peter – wouldn’t do anyone
any good right then.

“Quill… the only ones that hate you are the ones that are
upset you’re close to the Captain,” he explained. “The rest who been here a while
or are just too dumb to care about those things –“ he pointed toward Oblo “—don’t
really give a shit about it. Right now though you need to be supportin’ yer
captain. And that means tellin’ him when you have a problem with someone so he
can get rid of them – if his crew has problems with each other, it ain’t good
for business. And maybe eventually, when things calm down, you can tell him
what happened. And tell him why it went wrong. Got it?”

He nods and jumps in the water and hugs them both. “Thanks. I’m really sorry. Half wasn’t my target. He never would be.” Half smiles snuggling against tullks chest. “Go in now kid. I’m trying to relax…. feel better knowing no one’s trying to kill me…”

Tullk nodded in agreement, shooing the boy off with his hand
as he held Half-nut a tad closer to himself.

“Quick, take my hand, it’s urgent!” (whispers-of-change)

@whispers-of-change

She
smiled as she watched him. No wonder he was so sweet, all that sugar.
She gave a small smirk. He just kept getting cuter. She had a sudden
desire to brush her fingers through his hair, and had to stop herself
from letting out an audible sigh. “So, do you ever drink any kind of
tea?” she asked curiously, trying to keep some kind of conversation
going.

Carlos looked at her. He then smiled apologetically and
shook his head. “No, I, uh… I don’t drink tea,” he said. “I can’t stand the
taste. I don’t really know why, I just… I don’t like it. Sometimes it’s too
earthy for me, or too bitter and even sugar doesn’t really help. There was this
one time where I was sick and My dad gave me this tea that tasted like I was
drinking a spearmint gum wrapper.”

She smiled back at him. “It’s okay. Honestly, some people just don’t like tea. There’s a whole host of reasons. Everything from not having it prepared correctly, to not finding the right kind of blends to suit their palate, to just… not being in favor of it. I’m not upset. You’re allowed to have your preferences.”

Huh. Carlos had thought… well, he didn’t exactly think she’d be outright offended, but he thought she’d be a bit
more upset at it. Or disappointed. But she seemed to be understanding. Which
was great, actually.

“Um, thank you,” he said and he offered her another smile.

“No problem,” she beamed. “But if you ever change your mind and decide you wanna try to find a tea you like, let me know. If anyone in this town can find you a good blend to suit your tastes and make it for you the right way, it’s me. But I’m never gonna force you to try anything. That’d just be kinda pushy and mean, I think,” she said softly. “But… What kind of stuff do you do in your spare time?” she asked, leaning her elbows on the table. “Like… do you have any hobbies or anything you’re particularly interested in?”

Carlos smiled at her. “Yeah… um, absolutely. If I get the
inkling I’ll ask you.” He took a breath. “As for my spare time… well, I’m usually
busy so often with science. But when I get the chance… I like to watch westerns
on Netflix. And I like to tinker… that’s a hobby, right?”

“Yeah,” she smiled. “I say anything you’re not obligated to do and enjoy doing outside of work definitely counts as a hobby,” she replied, placing her hands on her cheeks. “What kinda stuff do you tinker with?” she asked, tilting her head to the side at a slight angle, a more relaxed, almost lopsided smile now on her face.

Carlos shrugged at her. “Just… things, I guess,” he said. “Electronics
and machines that are old, broken, or need a bit of a tune-up. Sometimes I go
into my laptop to clear out dust-bunnies, you know? That sort of thing.”

Max was sitting at the dock, he knew it was late but he didn’t want to be in his tent now. He was shaking with tears running down his face, the nightmare that woke him up still lingered in the back of his mind. He hated it. “F-fuck…” was all he could muster out as he stared into the lake.

(( I’m not good at writig starters yet but I’m working on it 🙂

“Alright, you too.”

Carlos smiled at him. He pat the kid’s shoulder and stepped
away, though he didn’t turn around yet until he watched Max get into the tent.

Max turned into the tent before nearly collapsing on his bed and hugging Mr. Honeynuts tightly, dosing off.

Carlos went back to the lake to continue his work, all the
while thinking about Max. He prayed that the kid would be okay. He hoped the
poor kid wouldn’t be too stressed out tomorrow. He prayed that he would feel
better.

“I know,, it’s just-“ Max sighs. “I’m scared…”

“I know, Max. I’m sorry.” Carlos rubbed his back some more. “Do
you… wanna talk to David? I’m sure he’d be more than willing to help put your
fears aside.”

Max shook his head. “I’d rather just forget about it and move on..”

“It’s a little hard to move on from something that you’re
still scared of,” Carlos told him. “Max… I’m sure David would want to help you.
He’s… well, he’s your parent now, right?“ Carlos thought so – unless he misheard it.

“Yeah… he is… “ Max was staring into the lake, he seemed somewhat calmer after talking about the dream.

Carlos nodded. “Then… I don’t mean now, but when you’re
ready, I’m sure he’d be happy to be trusted enough for you to go to him.”

Max nodded, he was pretty tired now. His chin was rested on his knees and he started nodding off.

Carlos looked down at the kid. He smiled slightly. “It looks
like you’re tired… wanna head back to your tent, Max?” he asked.

Max nodded. He stood up a rubbed his eyes.

Carlos took up his flashlight and stood up again. He offered
his hand to Max. “Hold my hand – at least until we’re away from the lake, okay
buddy?”

Max nodded, he spared almost no hesitation taking Carlos’ hand, normally he would outright refuse but he felt as though showed enough weakness that Carlos wouldn’t notice.

Carlos shined the flash light in front of them as he led Max
away from the docks. He was glad Max decided to take his hand this time – being
by the lake, he didn’t want to risk the boy falling in.

They made their way in the dark toward the tents and Carlos
listened, trying to hear if anyone else was awake as well.

“You remember which tent it is right?” Max yawned. “Farthest one from the mess hall.”

“Alright,” Carlos said as he started heading for that tent.

“Careful, we can’t wake Nikki or Charlie up. That’d be a mess…”

“Okay,” Carlos said softly. He kept the flashlight low so it
didn’t shine on the tent wall. He found the door and waited for Max to let go of
his hand and go inside. “Here you go, buddy… try to get some sleep. And explain
to David maybe that you had trouble sleeping – you don’t have to tell him why
if you don’t want to, but he’ll understand if you’re tired tomorrow, okay?”

“Yeah, sure.” Max’s voice had dropped to a whisper. “..Thanks.. for helping me..”

Carlos nodded. “You’re welcome, Max,” he said softly. “And…
I don’t know about David, but… I have had my own experience with… with shitty
parents. You ever wanna talk about it, I’m willing. David would be too I’m sure,
but if it helps to have someone to sympathize with, then… yeah.  Sleep well, Max.”

Yondu
hums. “Yes and no. I have a soft spot for cute things and people if
call family. Halfnut and Tullk have been with me for quite a while. Same
as Oblo. He’s loyal as hell. Dumb as a rock but loyal.”

Carlos chuckled softly. “Really? Oblo? I guess that explains
why he’s here. No offense meant, but he is the sort who needs someone looking
after him, especially in this line of work I think.”

“He’s good people…. listens. So long as he gets paid and no one hurts who he cares about or makes fun of his low iq he’s good. May even share those sugar dusted cookies he loves so much. Spends all his extra credits on those things at every damn port…”

“Awe, that’s cute,” Carlos said with a smile. “Uh, don’t
tell him I said that either. I don’t want the guys picking on him more… or me,
for that matter.”

“Yeah.. he’s pink.. like pink pink… so the Harrass him about it… he goes to his group of good people and the others leave him alone. He likes you because your nice to him. And…” hears a yelling fight go on down bellow and sees some crew fighting with Tullk. Another fighting half who was doing a puss poor attempt to fight back.

Carlos turned to look down as well, trying to accidentally
catch a glimpse of Yondu’s ass (while Yondu might have been okay with it,
Carlos wasn’t quite ready for it).

“Oh my god… what’s going on now?” he asked, mild distress in
his voice. This was supposed to be a nice mini vacation, not a rumble.

Yondu growls agreeing and stands not at all bothered by his nudity and gives Carlos a nice full moon as he whistles killing the crew attacking Tullk and half who sputters as he surfaces coughing. “The fuck is going on here?!!!!”

Carlos yelped softly and put a hand up to shield his line of
vision. He looked down into the water he was sitting in, waiting until Yondu
either left to deal with the mess himself or sorted it out and sat back down.

“Just changin’ some opinions, Captain!” Tullk shouted out. “Respectfully
speakin’!”

“Uhh Huh… well settle down now! Go back to yer soaking. I’m trying to flarking relax. Anyone else wanna join those idiots go a head I’ll whistle. Dump those bodies over the cliffs and go back to your vacation!” Settles back down and looks to carlos and grins. “My ass can’t be that ugly.” Teases and pulls him into a kiss.

Halfnut coughs as oblo drags the bodies away and look to Tullk.

Carlos made a small noise, but didn’t respond to Yondu’s
comment. “You’ve been carving down the crew quite a bit,” he told the blue man.
“I mean lately…”

Tullk went to Half-nut’s side and pulled him in close for a
hug. He then started to look over him. “You okay, boy-o?”

Yondu looks to carlos then whispers. “We’re going through a revamp of the crew…. we’re finding g ones that are trouble and getting rid of them. Those idiots though funny to attack in broad daylight…. don’t worry about it. We’ll be a good loyal crew soon enough..”

Half clings to him coughing a bit and nods shaking his head of water and just floats against him and smiles. “To be honest… I feel pretty good.” Snuggles up against his mate.

Carlos frowned slightly, but nodded. “I hope it’s soon,” he
said. “I’m… not really fond of constant visits from the Grim Reaper, you know?”
He then added, “I mean, you know, the person that takes dead people to the
afterlife and stuff. Sorry… I don’t know if you guys have an equivalent.”

Tullk just spat into the water and held Half-nut close. “Rest
up… let the water relax you, Jamie.”

“We do kind of….but no worries… the purge is almost done.”

Peter looks at tullk and halfnut biting his lip and lookscdown guiltily.

Carlos snorted softly. “That sounds like a terrible
holo-film,” he said.

Kraglin was nearby, inspecting his dirty fingernails. He
noticed Peter moving out of the corner of his eye and so he looked at the boy
with a frown. “What’re you makin’ that face for?” he asked.

Yondu grins and kisses him then tosses the orb up to take pictures.

“…. it was my fault….. what happened to Jamie……. “

Kraglin frowned deeper. “What you talkin’ about?” he asked. “Y’know
someone’s out to hurt Yondu. It ain’t you’re fault, Pete.”

“Not that……. “ stands and heads over to halfnut and Tullk. “Hey.. ummm. Glad your feeling better…… I…. I’m sorry…. it’s my fault…”

Tullk looked up at the boy with a slight frown. “Don’t go
around apologizing – can’t let the crew hear ya, boy. An’ what do you got to be
sorry about?”
