Why do people think I’m a tree?
Evidence of trees: Tall, green top, located in a forest.
You: Tall, wears a green shirt, can be found in a forest.

Carlos was a bit surprised at that. It seemed
like a really random subject to be interested in, he thought. But a fascinating
one, none-the-less.He smiled at Daisy, hoping to encourage her
further. “Really? How is it? Do you find it interesting?”David had expected some kind of odd look for that, not really the encouragement Carlos offered him. A small, genuine smile found its place on his lips at that. “It’s– it’s pretty cool. There are some stories about unexplained events and how it’s portrayed in pop culture.”
Carlos nodded. “Like in Matilda?” he said with
a smile. “Sorry – I really liked that book. And the movie’s phenomenal.”

Oh. Who are you and why are you talking to me?
//lol chill max//
David: okay…oh god…I’m a horrible counselor…I can’t even tell when one of my kids is upset…depressed, even…
No, son, no, you’re not horrible. You’re, what…
in your twenties? It’s okay. And Max didn’t want anyone to realize he was… so
upset. It’s not our fault, David.David: I’m going to go see him. Even if he’s asleep, I just wanna look at him…
Sure. *turns to open the door for David. Gives
him a small smile and steps aside so he could go in first.*David: *he gasps when he sees the small form of max, looking even smaller among the tubes and machines* oh max…
Max: *stirs and wakes up* d-David?
*shuts the door behind them gently* Hey buddy.
I gave him a call – I hope that’s okay.*he reaches out his arms* d-David.
David: *walks over and hugs the child gently*
*stands at the foot of the bed, just watching
them hug it out*David: max…I’m so sorry…
David…I did this…David…it’s all my fault…I scared everyone…I tried to…kill myself…
We got you out of the water and to the
hospital in time – that’s what’s important right now. The other kids will be
glad to know that you’re okay. *frowns* I… broke one of your ribs, Max, and
cracked a couple others. I’m sorry about that – I wish it was avoidable.

David:
*calms down* you’re right, you’re right, I’m sorry. So, is there a
specific reason he attempted suicide? Or should I wait for him to tell
me himself…There is a reason. And yeah, he needs to tell
someone. Though I warned him you might call CPS or something after he’s told
you… because of your job.David: oh no…
*nods sadly* Yeah… Suffice to say, it’s pretty
bad. He’s going to down-play it, but – as a father myself – I find his
situation unacceptable. But he needs to talk about it so that he can see others’
reactions and understand that it’s not right. *sighs* I’m sorry – this is just
a bunch of stuff to drop on you.David: he…he thinks it’s okay? He thinks it’s normal?
He’s ten – he doesn’t quite understand yet.
Again, I’m sorry… I get it, you’re a young adult and this is kind of heavy to
drop on you.David: no, thank you for letting me know…this is…oh god…I…*a few tears slip down davids cheeks*
*blinks, surprised, but goes for his packet of
tissues* I’m running out of these, heh. *gives one to David* Max wanted to talk
to you, but… then he jumped in a lake. So I think we should try having him talk
to you like he wanted to.
