watches as Carlos runs off, sniffling slightly.. oh, oh no Max please
don’t- he starts crying, tightly holding onto Angies shirt*

A: Oh, Maxy! It’s okay! Papa’s gonna be back soon! *she
tries to gently bounce him, though with her size it quickly becomes a bit
difficult. She instead sits on a log and holds him close, still cooing at him.*
Papa’s just getting his car! Then we can go to the store and get you all sorts
of nice things! You know, daddy got me a blanket with science stuff on it for
my first birthday – I still have it! I didn’t bring it though – I wish I did.
Then you could use it!

*he calms down slightly, still tightly holding onto the other* pa.. papa…

*Angie blinks at him and gasps, but then smiles widely* You
talked! Oh, cute! What else can you say, Maxy? Can you say ‘Angie’?

waved as he ran towards the mess hall, and after a quick lunch, he went
back to his tent, grabbing his notebook and drawing while waiting for
Carlos*

*Carlos comes back later than what would have probably been
expected. His car drives up the way and parks near the mess and the flagpole.
He hops out running over to Max.* Sorry! I thought the Volcano was doing
something and I lost track of time – I’m sorry I’m a little late!

M: *he laughs, clapping his little hands*

C: Angie? Look at your new sorta-brother! *shows bby Max to her*

A: Ooh, he’s cute!

*he blinks and curiously reachs for Angie*

A: *She just grins and gives him her hand to grab* Awe… hi
baby! You have big eyes!

C: He does. And look at all that hair. You’ve got a fluffy
head, Max!

*he laughs, happily holding one of Angies fingers*

A: Ooh, you’re so strong! *wiggles the finger he’s holding
onto*

C: He’s going to grow up again soon. It’s a little sad… but
he’s ten years old and really needs to be the age he actually is. But I was told it would be just a day, so it should be fine. 🙂

*he lets go of Angies finger and begins chewing on his own hand, looking up at Carlos with big eyes*

A: He might need a teething ring in the meantime.

C: I… oh, yeah. And I don’t want him to choke on his bandages
either… Maybe I’ll go get him some baby mittens and a teeth toy. *he pokes Max’s
nose, because he can’t resist it*

*he giggles again, grabbing carlos’ finger with his non chewed hand*

C: Oh… cute… *he then offers the baby to Angela* Wanna hold him while I go get my car? I wanna get him some things.

A: Okay, papa! *she holds her arms out and Carlos helps her arrange them to hold the baby better*

*Max was more then alittle confused, why did Carlos hand him over to this person? where was carlos going? why was he leaving? he tries to grab Carlos as he leaves, whining slightly*

C: Oh! Oh, no, no, buddy, it’s okay! *he leans down to press
a quick kiss to the top of the baby’s head* Angie’s here and she’s got you. I’ll
be right back! *he hurries off before the baby can grab him, already digging for his keys in his pocket*
