“Oh, I’m fine, nothing that I can walk off…” He performed a quick visual to see if he actually was struck he cause he needed medical attention. His magic wasn’t going to help him out of this one. Hopefully the beasts…imps…monsters? couldn’t get into the lab by sheer force. From what it seemed they would be in here for quite a while until those things went away.

They were in a lab. Clean, white tiles and clean white walls
with long metal tables arranged in rows. There were cabinets and a couple sinks
in the room, as well as various instruments and random items on the tables. For
some reason, next to the decontamination shower sat a bookcase that was locked
up in bullet-proof glass and chains.

Carlos looked the other man over, a little worriedly. “You
sure?” he asked. He then sighed, relieved and somewhat satisfied with the man’s
answer. “Good… it’s very good to hear.” He looked at Stephen with a frown. “So…
you’ve seen them. What do you think?” he asked.

“Well, it has been seen before by me, but nothing like that you know what I mean?” Stephen placed his hands on his hips and bent over slightly to catch his breath. “I really did thought you were messing around for a moment, but this town…oh this town is filled with so much….strangeness that I feel like there are things that I must know to help you comprehend this madness….and I have seen madness….madness? This is Nightvale, a brand new test for the great Doctor Strange.”

Carlos just listened to him as he spoke. He then laughed
softly. “You sound a little like Cecil, the way you talk,” he said. “Getting
all narrative and mysterious…” He chuckled again, and it gave way to a sigh as
he was still trying to catch his breath. “Okay… okay, now what? How can I help?”

Carlos jumped slightly when he heard a crash somewhere in
the lab.
