As the summer days rolled by, a full moon crept closer and closer. Thankfully, the woods surrounding the camp were large and caves were scatted everywhere, maybe Carlos could wait this out in a cave? all he had to do was find one and hope some other animal didn’t make its home there, right? -(the worse starter maker) L

Carlos wandered through the forest. He knew he’d seen a cave somewhere – it looked like an old bear cave, though he hadn’t gone in it before. He wanted to be as far away from his camp and the summer camps, in case the children had an idea to wander around at night to hunt for snipes. The full moon would make visibility perfect for it, so it was a reasonable concern in Carlos’ mind.

He finally came across the cave he was looking for. And not too soon either – the moon would rise probably within the next ten minutes. Carlos ventured forth, holding his flashlight up to search the inside of the cave. Hopefully it was empty. Could a werewolf beat a bear? Maybe?

“Well, This Technically Isn’t My First Time Being Human” he chuckles, walking along the trail

“It isn’t?” Carlos asked curiously as he walked along side him.

“Oh, Okay Then, I Guess..” he glanced away, unsure what to say

Carlos felt a little bad about it – he didn’t want to be seem pushy, but there were some things he just didn’t want to see. Then, of course, there were the children in the camps surrounding the area. THe police really didn’t need to be called.

“Hey… you hungry? We can head back to my tent and get something to eat. I’ve got some food.”

he smiled, wings twitching slightly “Sure! I haven’t since last night..” he got up, almost forgetting about the coat

Carlos got up after him, grabbing the coat. He hastily tied it around Drake’s waist into sort of a poor tunic-type thing. “I can offer you some shorts and a shirt too. It’ll be a bit more comfortable and… socially acceptable than this.”

“Clothes Are Annoying..” he muttered, glancing away as Carlos tied the coat around his waist

Carlos nodded. “They can be,” he admitted. Some shorts would be easier to wear than this though, I promise.”

he tilts his head “What Are Shorts?”

“It’s a thing that goes over your bottom. And it’ll stay up on its own.” Carlos stuck his feet into his shoes and knelt down to lace them up.

“Are All Human Rules Like These..?” he wrapped his wings around himself as he watched the other tie his shoes

“Like what exactly?” Carlos asked, looking up at Drake.

“All These ‘Clothes’ And Such..”

“Uh, yeah. There’s a lot of rules, but following them will help keep you out of trouble with humans, I promise.” He finished with his shoes and stood up again.

he huffed slightly, looking at the entrance of the cave

Carlos lifted an eyebrow in confusion. “You… do?“ he guessed.

he whined quietly, laying his head down

Carlos didn’t understand. “Drake, what do you want?” he asked.

he hesitated slightly before nunging his head against his hand, seeming abit upset

Carlos was very confused and he was honestly pretty worried. “Drake do you… need me to do something for you? Do you need me to help you?” He wasn’t even sure if Drake could understand his speech, but Carlos was going to try anyway. There wasn’t much else he could do.

he chirped softly, laying his head on Carlos’ lap, it didn’t seem like he understood the other at all

Carlos frowned, but he reached down to pet Drake’s head as he hoped to soothe the creature. He wasn’t sure what else he could do.

Maybe though, later, he could walk with Drake to the stream. It might be nice to have company.

he started to purr softly before suddenly turning into a human because anons are weird. he sat up, looking abit confused as he looked at his new body “Uh… Huh”

Carlos stared at him, wide-eyed. This was… a strange turn of events (to say teh very least). “Uh… what?”

“I.. Guess This Is Happening..?” he had a few bruises here and there, and he needed a shower

“Uh… what’s happening?” Carlos asked him. “You… you’re not a were human, are you?”

“Were Human..? I Don’t Think So..” he shifted his wings slightly “At Least Some Things Don’t Change..”

“This is… weird,” Carlos said redundantly. He grabbed his labcoat and gently spread it over Drake’s lap to cover up some… things.

he seemed abit confused by the other covering him “What’s this for..?”

“Oh, um… it’s sort of a ritual for humans. A lot of us prefer to be covered and that others cover themselves. It’s why I was pushing your head away earlier… I didn’t want you to see me uncovered.”

he tilted his head slightly “But I Was Nude Earlier And You Seemed Fine With It Then.. Humans Don’t Make Much Sense”

“Yeah, I know. Again, it’s a ritual sort of thing. And since we’re both in human bodies now, I’d prefer that you’re covered up. You know we have dogs and things and we don’t always dress them up, right? Humans don’t mind so much when it’s animals.”
