“Happy Halloween!”

daddypooltm:

Send me “Happy Halloween!” and I’ll generate a number from 1-13 for something Halloween related for my muse to say to yours.

“I’m taking my daughter trick-or-treating that night, and since I’m their favorite parental figure, I’m almost positive I’m going to be able to convince her to give me half of her candy.”

Carlos looked to the other man in surprise. “Really?” he asked. “Well, that’d be awfully nice of her. Heh, you sure you shouldn’t be carrying around your own bag?”

-there is a knock on the door leading into Mia’s office. Angie and her other adopted siblings currently under Mia’s care are there in various costumes- Trick or treat~

Carlos opened the door.

“Oh wow – so many of you guys!” Carlos said, smiling widely. He was wearing a stormy grey suit with a concrete-colored shirt and a charcoal tartan tie. He has his hair gelled up wildly, making it appear bigger than it ever had been before. He held out a bowl of candy toward the children. “Take a handful – I’ve got a lot of it. You guys look amazing – how has your Halloween been so far?”

He spotted Angela and grinned. “Mijita, you’re so cute! I love the coat and the flannel!”

Angela grinned back up at her father. The girl had her hair pulled back into a ponytail and dinosaur studs in her ears. She was currently wearing a lab coat over a pair of denim jeans and a mustard colored shirt. Obviously, she was dressed up as her favorite scientist for the holiday.

“Hi Papa!” she greeted excitedly as she took candy from the offered bowl before stepping out of the Office to give him a hug. “Halloween is fun! Mama’s taking us around to her friends and then we’re gonna go to a town she knows and trick or treat there!”

Carlos knelt down, still holding the bowl out
for the other children, and gave her a one-armed hug. “That sounds amazing,” he
said to her, grinning widely. He turned to press a kiss to the side of her
head. “Make sure your mom knows how much you appreciate her taking you all out.”

“Halloween?? With friends?? What friends?” Luci gave a small laugh, casually taking a sip of her coffee.

Carlos looked beside him, over at her with a smile. “Don’t got any Halloween parties planned, then?” he asked her. “Not even for work?”

“Oh?”

She seemed to hum, tilting her head before taking another sip of her drink, which slowly started to grow cold.

“I wonder who I might be..”

Carlos grinned wider. “I’ve got a
Giorgio A. Tsoukalos

costume, myself,” he said. “I’m pretty proud of it.”

She nodded before picking her phone back up, soon sending a text his way.

It is I, the great cookie

Carlos looked at the text and giggled, saving
the number. “Oh, you’re silly,” he chuckled. “What are your plans this week? In
general – you don’t have to go into specifics. We just met after all.”

“Well, nothing really. Just writing some notes and whatnot is my only thing..”

She then shrugged, giving a calm look

Carlos hummed and nodded. “Nothing for
Halloween then? Not even setting up at your local Trunk-or-Treat for the kids?
Assuming at least you’re in a place that has that.”

She then smiled, glancing down.

“Yeah, I am going to set up when I head home today. Even grab some candy on the way. Maybe.. I’ll dress up as someone. A character or something.”

Carlos smiled. “Or someone,” he said. “I saw a
really great Steve Harvey on twitter the other day.”

“Do I hear ‘Monster Mash’ playing?”

“yeah. i’m kind of weak for halloween in july.” david, that’s not even a real thing. you literally just made it up.

Carlos chuckled. “Does it have to be Halloween?”
Carlos asked. “You could have used an actual summer holiday as an excuse. Like
World Environment Day, the Summer Solstice, the night for the summertime Meteor
Showers, or even Picnic Day. Though, admittedly, that last one isn’t American.”

“Well– uh…” David wasn’t sweating nervously yet but a nervous chuckle did escape his lips. “I really, really like Halloween honestly. It’s fun.” David didn’t have a good reason, the spooky mood just seemed to hit early and the others were willing to go along with it for once.

Carlos grinned at that. “Well, there’s nothing
wrong with liking Halloween,” he said. “It is a really fun time.” He folded his
arms, still looking at David. “So, you got any plans for the kids? You gonna
have them craft together some costumes?”
