“I never said you were a superhero.“

Tony couldn’t help but smirk at the words from this man in front of him. After everything that had happened with Hammer, he’d wanted to make one last stand against the way that he’d been treated by finding the people that had been left out of a job from him and test their own skills. One of those men stood in front of him now.

It hadn’t been too hard to find him, although there had been a long list of people to vet. He hadn’t been shocked that he found the skills of many of Hammer’s former employees to be sub-par but he was hoping that at the very least this endeavour would prove interesting.

“Well I suppose that would be too much to ask.” He agreed easily. “But I wouldn’t mind the comparison. I am that cool after all.”

Carlos tried not to grin at that. He had heard about Tony
Stark’s charisma – he had watched the TED talks and many other presentations
that the man had made whenever he could. Carlos genuinely liked Stark’s
personality, even if one were to say he was egotistical. Which made the fact
that he used to work for one of Stark’s biggest competitors, and criminal maniac, horribly ironic and kind of
awkward on Carlos’ part.

“I just mean, sir – Mr Stark,” Carlos started to explain, a
little nervously, “that, uh… it’d be unfair to make that comparison. I don’t
really think that ‘superheroes’ exist. You are a hero, certainly and an active
advocate for many charities. I just…” Carlos squirmed a bit. “I dunno; it’s
just not something I’d call you. I find that, personally, you’re more in the ‘inspiration’
and a ‘force for good’ categories. I’m sorry… I guess I’m not making much sense.”
