Yondu
sighs looking to him. “There’s a problem with that……. I don’t want to
just be friends….. and being around you will only…. rub it in my face
that I can’t have you. I can’t deal with that. It… it hurts to much….
feels like my throat and chest are closing up with ice.”

“That’s why I said stay around a couple days,” Carlos said
told him. “Maybe… with me being planet-side we can let things settle a bit. I still want you to have dinner with my
family… and I still want to go
shopping with Kraglin or Peter and get some treats for the crew. I just…
please, Yondu.” Carlos didn’t want to let go of him completely – he’d rather
not let go of him at all but he’d
take whatever he could get!

Yondu sighs. “Your killing me carlos. I can’t say no to you or deny you anything.” Leans over and grabs him holding on and nuzzles against his neck before standing back up and heads back inside.

Carlos wanted to sigh in relief. He went with Yondu, walking close so that their arms brushed together.

“Hey guys – welcome back,” Mikey greeted them with a smile – he had been waiting just outside of the living room for them. He turned around and rolled back to his place.

“I was thinking about dinner, Yondu,” Mr Ramon said. “If you were inclined to stay… how do you feel about beans and ground meat?” He offered the blue man a smile.

Yondu
swallows. Here it came. Never failed. “Your right. The deal was bring
him home…… not… get attached……… and even if I wasn’t… fearful of earth….
I can’t stay….. I have…. a job……so… I… I could come around terran
space…. maybe every few months……. or so…..”

Carlos looked at Yondu, concerned. “Hey – hey, it wasn’t all
you. J-just so you know. I humored you and let it develop… it – it was probably
a mistake, since we… we got somewhat emotional. But I don’t really regret it,
Yondu. I had fun – so much fun!”

Yondu
looks to carlos frowning at the pinch. “Uhhhhh all I know is… it’s
round… and orange…. tangy….. uhhh… smells good…. don’t know a lot about
human food ya be honest.. but that’s the one that turnedcmy insides
against me.”

“Did it have a rind on it?” Mr Ramon asked. “As in, could
you peel it with your hands?”

Carlos grinned at Yondu and rubbed his arm.

Yondu gives carlos a playful pout then does something infront of them. He leans over and kisses Carlos nuzzling. “Pinching me wanting attention littke shit.”

Carlos was surprised and he giggled and grinned at Yondu.
But when he glanced at his family, he noticed that both of them were staring at
him, obviously very shocked.

Oh… right.

“Um… so, Dad… Mikey… Yondu and I have kinda been… dating on
the way back to Earth.”

Yondu grins and nods putting his arm around Carlos’s waist and pulling him close grinning with his sharp teeth and nuzzles.

“Huh,” Mikey said. “Well… didn’t peg you to go for bad-boys,
Carlito.”

Carlos laughed a little nervously. “Yeah… neither did I.”

“You were dating him… on the way back to Earth,” Mr Ramon
repeated. Carlos started to feel anxiety crawl across his shoulders.

“Yeah, I… I have.”

Yondu got a bit defensive at the way he said it then coughs. “Ahh right. Well. To specify… there has been no probing. I hear that important knowledge to Terrans…”

Mr Ramon frowned. “Well, I don’t need to know about any ‘probing’
going on,” he said.

Dad!” Carlos
exclaimed.

“He’s an adult and can do what he wants in his sex life,” Mr
Ramon went on. “Where my concern is, is that you don’t like being on Earth… and
Carlos has family here.”

Yondu
sighs sitting next to him and nods leaning against him. “It’s known
Terrans capture and… dissect what they don’t understand. I’ve seen it….
before my crew managed break me out. I watched as another crew member
was dissected and killed….”

“Oh my god,” Mr Ramon murmured.

“I wonder if that was SHIELD,” Mikey murmured. “Or, like…
the CIA or something.”

Carlos shrugged slightly. He hadn’t heard about this from
Yondu before… it made sense why he was so nervous being on Earth now.

Yondu shrugs. “all i know is that…… they were Terrans. And…. they tore up my friend. Didn’t even have the decency to kill him first……. not even we….. do that…. we have illegal experimentation but…. I’ve never heard anyone keeping you alive or awake for that shit….”

“That sounds pretty illegal for us,” Mr Ramon told him. “Those
are crimes against humanity.”

“When has the CIA followed the law, Dad?” Mikey asked. “And
I don’t know if ‘crimes against humanity’ laws protect non-humans anyhow.” He
looked at Yondu. “Though, it looks like they really outta, since it’s obvious
that we’re not alone in the galaxy.”

“I had no idea, Yondu,” Carlos told him the Ravager Captain.
“Had I known… Iwouldn’t have pushed so hard to make you come with me.”

Mr Ramon frowned slightly. “But, Mr Udonta, for what it’s
worth I’m very glad that you did
come. I am so grateful for what you’ve done for my family, and I’m glad that I
can say that to your face. Thank you.”

Looks to carlos and smiles ears flicking. “I promised. I just…. might have issues like what just happened….. …. and… mr. Ramon…. I’m glad I came too. Carlos speaks highly of his family. Hmmmm you know… in space they have treatments for walking and for those in wheel chairs. Get a few cybernetics you’ll be playing hard ball in the arena…”

Mikey smiled at him. “Thanks, man, but if I start toting
around alien cybernetics people are going to wonder where I got it, how much it
cost, and if I can be blackmailed into getting more.” He shrugged slightly. “I’m
a software designer – walking’s for zombies. I don’t need to do that stuff.
Besides – girls like a guy with strong arms.” And with that Mikey flexed his
arms playfully with a cheeky grin.

Carlos smiled at Mikey.

“Would you like to stay for dinner?” Mr Ramon asked. “Or… if
you can eat Earth food, that is. I know how to cook quite a bit though, and I’m
very willing to cook to your palate.”

Yondu laughs a bit and shakes his head. “I.. Uhh sure. Only human food I cannot eat is your fruit. We all found out that hard way on that. I do t care for a repeat. Carlos… your family should try beastie worms. You liked em right?”

Carlos smiled. “Yeah, they’re a great snack,” he agreed. “Not
exactly for a meal though,” he then
added and reached to gently pinch Yondu on the arm.

“Well… Yondu, humans use a lot of fruits and technical
fruits in their food,” Mr Ramon said. “There’s a vast amount of different
species of fruit, actually. Do you know which kinds are the ones that gave you
a bad reaction?”
