Carlos nodded to her. “Absolutely,” he said.
He grabbed a pen from his bag and uncapped it, barely able to hold in an
excited smirk.

She can’t help but chuckle softly at his excitement. She takes some boiling water off the small fire on the other side of the room and pours some in a cup. From this point on, she moves slowly, letting Carlos take notes. She takes the tea leaves from a box and places them in the cup, letting them seep in the water as she grabs the medicinal herbs that she grinds up between her hands. She then stirs the herbs into the tea.

Carlos sat in the corner, trying to keep out of the way. He kept his eyes on Citra’s hands, writing down what she did with bulletpoints and dashes for each action and sub-action. He wrinkled his face a little bit at the sight of the tea (personal preference), but he asks: “What’s the base leaf you used in the tea?”

Carlos held the straps of his bags tightly as he followed O’Connor
out of the bar.

He really liked this gentleman. He was one of the nicest
people Carlos had met in the Commonwealth. God, he hoped that his upcoming job
would turn out alright.

“Where are you headed after this?” Ronan asks, lighting up another cigarette once they were outside, now leading Carlos to the shop. “Or do you not have anywhere in mind?”

Carlos shook his head. “Just… wherever I can find salvage,”
he said. “Though… coming to the city was a bit of a mistake. There’s raiders
and Gunners and Super Mutants everywhere – I don’t know how you guys live here.”

Carlos took the needle. He sighed, looking at the raider’s weeping
wound. Carlos then took another deep breath and flexed his fingers. “Okay…” he
said softly. “Um… okay. Let’s see about going about this…”

Slowly he reached out and touched her skin just beside her
wound.

She closes her eyes when she feels him touch her skin, taking deep, slow breaths to try to calm herself. “If you take any longer, Carlos, I will bleed out.” Despite her statement, her tone is joking and lighthearted, trying to ease his worries. “Just go on. It does not need to be perfect.”

Carlos tensed slightly at her words, but he nodded. “Right…
right, okay,” he said softly. He breathed again and drew the needle closer to
her skin.

“Did we clean this?” he suddenly asked, pulling the needle
back. “No, no… of course we did!” he
then reasoned. “I wouldn’t have gone this far without cleaning it.” He then
huffed at himself. “I’m sorry – I’ve never done this before. I just – I don’t
want to hurt you any more than you are.”
