I see people making posts about what will happen if net neutrality is killed, and I wanted to add to that by showing how the fandom side of the internet would be affected.
You’ll have to pay extra to catch up to your favorite shows. The usage of streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu will require fees.
The usage of Tumblr will require extra fees. It’ll make it harder for fans to connect with each other.
Fanfiction writers like me won’t be able to post our work without paying. That means that we can’t read others’ work either.
You want to stay tuned in to what your favorite celebrity is doing online? Sorry, you’ll have to pay.
If the bill to take away Net Neutrality passes on December 14, you’ll have to pay to stay in contact with all the friends you’ve met online through your fandoms.
If you’re not able to afford increasing rates, you’ll be cut off from everything you love about books, tv shows, movies, and more.
That’s why I’m urging you to take action. If you are part of a fandom on here, we need to join forces with each other and advance as a family to fight this. This sounds super cheesy, but I don’t care of you’re a Superwholockian, a Potterhead, a Star Wars fan, a Star Trek fan – we need to put our differences aside and fight for the right to keep enjoying what we enjoy.
Hell, if you’re not in a fandom, fight for your own rights to the internet, to this unique website.
If you can’t help out, signal boost this and spread it everywhere.
I’ve also reached out to Misha Collins on Instagram, providing him with information and asking him if he can help spread the word. It seems futile, but we need all the help we can get. If you feel comfortable with it, try talking to your favorite famous people to ask them to help spread the word as well.
Ways to help:
This is a link to a petition. The goal is 300,000 signatures and we are nearly there. International users, you can help here too!
We only need to convince one of the three people below to change their vote to ‘No.’ Be smart, formal, and respectful in your emails. If we are rude, we’re no better than them. Check out the net neutrality tag on the explore page to find letter templates that people have put up.
Ajit Pai – Ajit.Pai@fcc.gov
Michael O’Rielly – Mike.ORielly@fcc.gov
Brendan Carr – Brendan.Carr@fcc.gov
You can also text “RESIST” to 50409, which is a bot that will help you fax a letter to your senators. Remember: smart, formal, and respectful.
Hey what the fuck happened to all the net neutrality coverage
This shit is still happening people, and all of the sudden its disappeared from my dash almost entirely over night
I don’t know why, but I think people are automatically being unfollowed from the Net Neutrality tag. It happens to me every time I try to follow it. I’ll follow the tag, come back 20 minutes later & I’ll for some reason have unfollowed the tag automatically. I think this may be happening to a majority of people in an attempt to silence the resistance. Please take a screen shot of this post in case it gets deleted.
hey yeah can yall reblog this cause this is very important. Tumblr is ACTIVELY trying to silence out outrage at this by making us incapable of seeing coverage of events. We’re all gonna have to come together and step up about this.
Every little note counts, spread the word, dont give in so easily
I just checked this and i can CONFIRM that tumblr AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU UNFOLLOW THE NET NEUTRALITY TAGS AFTER 20 MINUTES
Please spread the word! Screen shot this post just in case it gets deleted!!
There is a reason that happens. Tumblr is OWNED by Verizon who is a leader in throwing money at getting rid of Net Neutrality. They have spent literally millions to bring it down so that they can charge you more, slow down your internet and block you from sites they do not deem appropriate. Keep sending in letters, emails and making phone calls. IF you post about it ADD links for FS!
So recently, I got calls from the phone number, (937) 353-8319. They claim to be a job service, and one of their “employees”, Carrigan, is friends with whoever the call recipient is, and that Carrigan has recommended you for this $15.00/h “job”. I also got a text message from (937) 607-1493, claiming to be Carrigan, and that they need stuff to “win a scholarship”. I do not know anyone by the name of Carrigan and I know very well that this is a very dangerous scam.
If you receive a call from a number, and they ask you if you would like a job for $15.00/h, HANG UP IMMEDIATELY. If you accept the “job” offer, and you go in for an interview, they will give you a drugged bottle of water and you will wake up somewhere you don’t want to be.
These phone calls & texts are from a human trafficking service, and if you oblige to them, you will be sold to people and you will be raped, no doubt about it. So PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS OR TEXTS. I have listened to the voicemails, and allowed my dad to do the same, and he learned that anyone offering a $15.00/h “job” is a human trafficker.
PLEASE SIGNAL BOOST THIS ALL OVER TUMBLR
Okay, I am reblogging this because it is relevant again. I got another call from a 353 number. Not the exact same number, but I know that it is a trafficker because it’s 353 just like the last one. I also want this to signal boost so PLEASE REBLOG THIS.
Why are people deleting the captions though I had to search for what the pictures meant don’t do that
Always reblog.
I have no idea if this is still relevant but still be aware
i have no idea if this is still relevant but still be aware
^Haiku^bot^0.4. Sometimes I do stupid things (but I have improved with syllables!). Beep-boop!
*cracks knuckles*
Okay… first have this from Snopes.com. This is what came up first when I typed “carrigan trafficking scam” in the Google search bar.
The number in the second image is owned by Hicks Enterprises, according White Pages.
Admittedly, after a short search I can’t really find much about them, and I’m not going to call them to ask ‘Hey, are you guys human traffickers?” If anybody else would like to do that, then by all means. Preferably using a payphone. But there is a name to this number. BTW, that facebook link is blank a blank account. There’s nothing there.
However, the first number belonging to “Carrigan” is listed on CallerCenter.com with two complaints. One is from 2015, and the other is actually from just a month ago in October, 2017. It is listed with the name Carrigan L. Again, if anyone wants to call it, use a payphone. I’m not going to.
No, I don’t know if these guys are traffickers. As far as I know, there’s no evidence other than this post and that one complaint from 2015, which I think was made by the poster. By the way, notice this post doesn’t have a source – it’s 2 years old and apparently the blog has since been deleted – if the name were changed it would have a source but it doesn’t. So a bit hard to confirm this post with OP.
Yeah, I’m a little skeptical. But that said…
Don’t answer weird text messages from strange numbers. Don’t answer weird numbers that give you bad feelings. Do your research if you can.
WE HAVE ONE WEEK LEFT TO FIGHT THIS PLEASE HURRY! This is the URL to enter your phone number to call Congress and ask them to repeal. We NEED to fight this people!
I can’t tell if this is real or just a very surreal meme.
Unfortunately this is real.
It’s been moved to Dec 22. We now have more than a month to continue fighting. I’ve already gotten in contact with my reps and unfortunately only one of them gives a damn. I have informed the others I will considering their replacements when the time roles around. For those who think that does nothing, thats what they what you to think. Telling your reps that you will not vote for them in the coming elections DOES scare them. Call your reps and tell them.
PLEASE DO THIS! THIS IS OUR ONLY CHANCE TO STOP THEM!
I know for a fact I’d freeze up on the phone and I don’t see an option for signing my name for support, so I’ll give this a reblog for any of my followers who can handle this sort of call.
For those who can’t handle calls, you can check out ResistBot, which lets you send a fax to your Reps. via text message. And it’s not for a specific issue, it’s available for anything!
good parents dont hit their children.
good parents dont touch their children inappropriately.
good parents dont scream at their children.
good parents dont manipulate their children.
good parents dont imprison their children at home.
good parents dont threaten their children.
good parents dont starve their children.
good parents dont harass their children.
good parents do not abuse their children.
in case you don’t know weather to reblog this:
This makes me realize several uncomfortable things about my childhood.
Wait the screaming thing isn’t a normal thing?
Apparently not
Omg my poor babies, as a CHAD major let me lay it out for you.
Occasional “im human and im frustrated” yelling happens. Those are usually followed by apologies and genuine effort not to do that again.
But if your parent/guardian is always SCREAMING at you, especially as a way to control or make you feel inferior (insults, threats, things they know make you subdue and guilty) THIS IS EMOTIONAL ABUSE. if they are purposely contorting your emotions as a method to control that is abuse.
If someone hits, kicks, slaps, or beats you (not just a gentle nonsexual spank on the butt) THIS IS PHYSICAL ABUSE, ESPECIALLY IF IT LEAVES A BRUISE, CUT ABRAISION, ETC.
If adults are making you dance in a manner to be sexual, do sexual things, or watch sexual things inappropriate for your age THIS IS SEXUAL ABUSE. it is not always touching your/someone else’s private areas (which is ALSO abuse.)
If your parent or guardian is depriving you of things that are essential for life (food, water, shelter, weather appropriate clothes, hygiene, medical) and it is not just a “we are literally too broke to get these things but im really trying ” THIS IS NEGLECT AND IS ABUSE.
Talk to a teacher or trusted adult. Anyone in a human service setting (educators, administration, health, etc) especially those in a child/ adolescent arena are MANDATED REPORTERS: they MUST tell CPS there is a problem. If you are in immediate danger be explicit: they will call 911 to keep you safe.
This is SO fucking important please be safe my peeps.
i dont normally reblog commentary on my “big posts” because i worry about page stretching, but this is a good addition.
and, i know, talking to someone about this kinda shit is like? absolutely terrifying. calling the police is terrifying, especially when youve been groomed to believe that you will never have anyone in your life who “will care for you” like your parents.
trust me, good lord fucking trust me, i know. my followers have heard me LAMENT before about how my parents abused me. i never said anything growing up, and in the end i ran away. now im safe.
its still fucking terrifying, even as an adult. i have terrible ptsd because of my them. id been conditioned by them to believe abuse was normal, and no one had ever told me otherwise.
some part of me, i guess, knew it was wrong, but i was too scared to ever say anything.
please be safe. sometimes calling authorities isnt enough. get proof of the abuse. take photos, videos (if you can), record audio on your phone (use the voice recorder, or memo option, hide your cellphone). go to a teacher, or a counselor. CONFIDE in a trusted adult first. school fucking blows but there are RESOURCES there specifically MADE FOR YOU. college, high school, middle school, elementary school – all of it. if you contact cps, there will be an investigation, and if you lack evidence then you lack a case and thats not ALWAYS what happens but i know there are horror stories out there and a cruel reality. dont give your abusers the opportunity to sweet talk the police, or your teachers.
i know theyve told you that nobody else cares, and that you feel like theres no escape or that they might hurt you worse if you tell people what theyve done – they CANT hurt you like they threaten they can. theyre not good parents, and you have tons of online support, child/domestic services, and resources at your fingertips to take them down. you can get protection and your resources will find people to shelter you.

SAVE A LIFE 🔃🔃🔃🔃🔃🔃🔃🔃
There’s a FDA approved daily medication called Truvada, or the PrEP treatment, that is 92-99% effective in preventing the contraction of HIV.
Private insurance and Medicaid cover it. You can also get it for free in a lot of high risk cities like Atlanta, NY, and San Fransisco.
It’s the same cocktail they give to medical professionals who have had contaminated needle sticks/blood splashes from potentially infected blood. Very effective.
BOOST !!!!!
Please boost. You may think you’ll never need it, but you never know what might happen in your life
