“Yeah, babe?”
Cecil looks to the lab phone, then back to Carlos. “Yes.”
“Huh. Okay. So you… you want to meet Max then? They might be doing a fire-side tonight… we can head over and say hi just before the sun sets.”
“I would love to meet Max. A friend of yours is a friend of mine Carlos. And he seemed lovely on the phone.”
“Heh… um, yeah… he’s a good kid. When he wants to be. Heh… yeah, I think you’ll like him.”
“I am ready to go whenever you are! I bet the camp will be interesting!”
“Yeah, it… it certainly is. It’s a different sort of interesting, but it’s still interesting. C’mon – let’s crash a fire-side. Heh!”
Cecil holds onto Carlos’s hand, a small smile on his face. “That sounds wonderful!”
“I got a pack of starbursts so we can hand them out to the kids. They’re great roasted over a fire.”
