“Ok,”
arsenic said “i want to get the memories of my family back to them.
That is what i want here. And you can protect nightvale by : 1.Biulding
defences against tripplesix using order energy infected things, 2.
Helping me strip her of her godhood.”

“Okay,” Carlos said. “Help me help Night Vale build the defenses.”

“Ok!” arsenic said “im going to head to desert bluffs to see if i can capture, like, an order energy infeced coyote or something.”

“Alright. What should I have Cecil tell Night Vale in the meantime?”

“Have him tell them that if they see anything glowing yellow, they give it to me.” arsenic said.

“But you’ll be in Desert Bluffs,” Carlos said. “What can we do here? Stay indoors? Let the Librarians out?”

Carlos chuckled. “Alexa has standards, surprisingly – even as nice as she is,” Carlos replied with a smile. “I promise you, when the jokes come to me you’ll be the first to know. Whether you like it or not.” He winked with a little impish smirk on his face.

“Always give it a try, I’ll be sure to give ya my opinion on ‘em–– although, if they’re bad, I’m guessin’ a groan is what you’re aimin’ for, anyway, hmm?” As Hancock turned off onto another road, everything became narrower, the stone wall on the passenger side so close, Carlos could touch it if he opened the window, the cars passing on the driver’s side, just as close. “Alright, we should get there soon, do ya wanna try to find a hotel in the area first or head right to the Causeway? It should still be open for a few hours after we get there and it doesn’t take long to walk through, an hour or two, maybe.”

Carlos just grinned about the jokes.

He watched the stone walls as they passed by, mentally imagining this little figure jumping over the peaks in the stones and keeping up with the car. “I think we can do the Causeway first,” he said. “If you say it doesn’t take too long, then let’s go for it.”

“Ohhh What yer daddy don’t know carlos…. I’m a ravager…. we’re like….. ahhhh space pirates as petey calls us..”

Mr Ramon frowned slightly. “Space pirates,” he repeated.

Carlos folded his arms. He looked at the tabletop and nodded. “Yeah…”

“As in… stealing stuff and plundering pirates?” Mikey asked.

Yondu nods. “That would be accurate. We steal… take jobs for clients hunting for rare objects… tomb robbers… hunters… treasure hunters… that’s us…”

“And how did you end up with them, Carlos?” Mr Ramon asked seriously.

Carlos sighed. “I was, uh… abducted. Again. But they don’t make a habit of doing that sort of thing – it’s against their code to kidnap sentients against their will, unless it’s for a bounty-hunting job.”

“Then what was this case? Did you get in trouble with someone?” Mr Ramon asked.

Carlos swallowed slightly. “No… they needed someone to work on their engines. And… I happened to have the skills needed.”

Yondu nods. “See my boys went to the station yet boy was. They were tasked with hiring a mechanic… my terran boy saw this guy and well… got interested… Well the nova Corp… uhhh kinda like galactic police don’t like us much. My boys nabbed you boy as a last dich resort and well….. was a good one. He was more then we’d ever thought. Because something special to the crew…. my boys… and… to me…”

“I chose to stay with them,” Carlos said. “Not only was Yondu willing to give me passage home, but… I learned to appreciate them for who they are. And the ship has gone through a massive overhaul in the crew and we’ve made the ship a better place to be on.”

Yondu looks to carlos and smiles nodding in agreement. At that moment his com started beeping and he nods to them before getting up and taking the call a little bit away. “Yes Kraglin. Petey. What is it?” Blinks as peter pushes Kraglins head away from the screen. “Hey when do you want us to head down?”

Kraglin growled on the communicator. “Peter, I swear to the Watchers I’m gonna gut ya if ya don’t sit still!” Peter was shoved away and Kraglin reappeared. “Cap’n… what’s the situation – did you find Ramon’s family?”

“It’s Kraglin and Peter,” Carlos explained to his family in a hushed tone.

“What are Watchers?” Mikey asked, to which Carlos just shrugged.

Yondu rolls his eyes. “Kraglin be nice to peter. Peter stop annoying Kraglin. For Anthos sake…yes we found his family. Just had a home cooked meal you both missed. Peter you can thank Kraglin for missing it as he was being a grump and didn’t want to come with.” Smirks as peter groans and starts crawling on Kraglin. “Boys boys! Peter stop pulling on your brother before he bites you. Now you both have a chance tomorrow morning to hop on a mship and come here for food and shopping. Kraglin you are to be on your best behavior… that’s a order.”

“Aye, Cap’n,” Kraglin murmured. “But all due respectin’, you told me to stay an’ watch the ship. It ain’t my fault Pete didn’t go with you.”

“Did I? Huh. Guess I wasn’t thinking…. anyway. Bright eyes and bushy tailed. Petey…. you can sleep in Kraglins bed tonight right?”

Peter nods and hugs kraglin around the neck.

“Just don’t wet the bed.”

“Oh my god!!! That was years ago!!!! You gonna ever stop bringing that up!! Yeeesh!!”

Yondu smirks. “And when you boys head down stay in invisible mode. Don’t need to attract and try dressing…uhhh terran..”

Carlos looked up from where he was sitting. “Peter’s fine – Kraglin should wear some pants though.”

Kraglin seemed to cringe a bit, hearing Carlos’ words. “… Fine,” he murmured, though Carlos would have been unable to hear him.

“Hmm…” arsenic hummed in thought “then well have to capture something that is infused/infected with order energy.”

“Capture something?” Carlos asked.  “What do you mean – as if it was something
alive?”

“I suppose, ” arsenic said “i should explain further. Order energy is an artifically created energy, created by the cat-dragon-dream-demon empire ten billion years ago, to more easiliy enforce there regime. It was created to spread, and is thus capable of infecting creatures and places ad turning them into, well…. Lets use dessert bluffs as an example. That place is full of order energy. Sorry for not explaining further right off the bat.”

“Uh… I think I kind of understand,” Carlos said. “Do you mean this Desert Bluffs, or the one in your universe? Where… your Carlos was?”

“I dont know if order energy has spread to your dimension yet, so mabey mine, mabey yours.” arsenic said, shrugging.

“Okay. So… how do we find the Order Energy? I mean, how do we detect it?”

“Everything thats infected with order energy has a rubber duck yellow glow.” arsenic said “but there is one other thing.”

The pulled an extremly oranate box that could not have possibly fit in there hoodie pocket out of there hoodie pocket. It was about long enough to fit your avarage kitchen knife. They opened it up and it held a kitchen knife, bloodstained and dusty.

“This,” arsenic said “is killer of gods and men, the only thing capable of stripping a god of thier power. However, you must directly stab the god to do it.”

“… It’s like something in a Minecraft mod,” he murmured. “Also, I thought only gods can kill other gods. That’s… that’s how that whole thing works, right? And since when are we going against gods? I’m sorry, I’m still trying to wrap my head around this.”

“I first spoke of tripplesix as tripplesix the trickster goddes, did i not?” arsenic asked. “Im sorry for pulling you into this, its just, im a pacifist so i cant use the knife known as killer of gods and men.”

Carlos frowned. “You’re a pacifist… but it seems like you’re clearly trying to get me to do your killing for you. That’s not a very pacifist thing to do, I think…”

“The name is a bit misleading” arsenic said “youv gotta stab the god twice with this knife to kill them cause the first time it just strips them of there godhood. Sorry for not explaining earlier.”

“Why not just once? They they could actually stand for their crimes and be sentenced.”

“Was i implying that i meant to kill her?” arsenic asked “cause i didnt mean to, and i dont think i said i meant to.”

“You just told me how to kill her, so I thought that meant you wanted me to,” Carlos said. He sighed again. “What do you actually want, here? My only interest is protecting Night Vale. Explain to me, step by step, how I can do that.”
