Carlos hadn’t been to a circus in years – not since he was little. But there had been a raffle at work and Carlos had won a coupon for a free ticket. He kinda hoped that his brother and/or his dad were in town so he could invite them to go with him.

Carlos made his way to the ticket office that was set up, standing in the line with his coupon as he looked at everything around him. Some things were different than what he remembered or imagined a circus to be like, but not everything could be a dated cliche trope he supposed.

Once at the ticket office he smiled and offered the coupon. “Hey… this any good?” he asked in a joking manner.

@partyplanningforsuckers

“Yes-“
He responded in a quiet and quick word, then beginning to grow uneasy
and restless at the sustained visual on their throat. “Lore- I.. I am
conflicted on asking you whether or not I can dine on your fresh blood,
or not.”

Some of the scientists face-palmed while the rest, including Lore, just stared at Skip.

Lore was the first to speak up. “Well… you don’t have to feel conflicted anymore since you just basically asked me. Why? Are you hungry?”

“Yes- but.. If you don’t want to then I won’t force you, it’s your option..” He pardoned softly, forcing his eyes away from their throat. “But preferably before Carlos comes back,”

Lore frowned slightly. “Why before then? Does he not know that you get hungry like this?”

“Oh- no, I just- I wouldn’t want to be rude and found sucking on one of his colleague’s necks, as he walks in to ask me a question.” He explained simply, “So it would actually help if you had a bathroom, or perhaps a quiet room where I could…”

Lore made a face. “Ick – no, not the bathroom. That’s a dirty place to try to eat. C’mon – we’ll just go to the break room!” They took Skip’s hand suddenly and started pulling him away from the other scientists. “It’s not going to be dangerous for me, right?” Lore suddenly asked as the scientists left behind looked around at each other and murmured to each other about everything that had just happened.

Skip was rather excited about this so easily acquired opportunity, he grinned eagerly and shook his head and licked his lips over with a hum. “Mhm- oh, no. It’s completely safe, if you’d prefer I can hypnotize you again so you don’t even know it happened- or you can document the situation? Maybe you could ask someone to take notes, or film?” He offered with a shrug, “Or not.”

Lore smiled back at him. “I can be awake, I promise,” they said. “How do you want to do it? Like a blood-letting? I think we just got a stock of IV needles in so I can plug one directly into a vein for you.”

the forest was quiet as usual til what sounded like a storm opened up from a small circle a few feet off the ground, complete with lightening flash off and striking trees but as quickly as the the ‘storm’ started, it ended, leaving only a few burn marks and a broken man on the ground -(sending this again cause i know tumblitch eats asks) dedmax, a starter for jon!

Carlos went out into the storm with his equipment, since the weather was really interesting around Sleepy Peak Peak (what, with Spooky island and that one side of the lake always being covered in dark, foreboding clouds).

As he approached one of the locations of a lightning strike however he paused, seeing a person on the ground. Oh no – did it strike someone?

Carlos hurried over and dropped his equipment to the side to start inspecting the body for life.

“He-hello? Hello, can you hear me? Sir?”

he groaned weakly, barely opening his eyes before trying to sit up “Where am I.. What happened-” he hissed in pain, tightly holding his side as blood started to soak through his clothes

Oh, thank God – he’s alive.

“You’re in a forest… you may have been struck by lightning. Where do you hurt? Where’s the wound?”

Carlos went through the pockets of his labcoat for some fresh rubber gloves and his first aid kit.

J: “Everywhere and maybe..” he glanced at the other and squinted slightly “… Why are their two of You..? What world is this..” he sighed softly, putting a trembling hand on his head as he curled his tail around himself

Carlos frowned at him. “No, there’s one of me,” he said. “You may have hit your head. You’re in Sleepy Peak – or, the forest next to the town. I’m not sure what this universe’s designation is though, if that’s what you’re asking.”

Carlos snapped on his gloves. “Okay. Let’s try and find the source of the blood…” He started to reach for the other’s shirt, but stopped. “May I? You look like you’re bleeding from your side, but I want to know if you’re okay with me examining.”

J: “If You think You can stop it then go ahead..” he leans back slightly, glancing around “.. Where’s lightening..? There was none a minute ago..”

“The storm stopped,” Carlos said. “Or, at least it receded back to the island and that other camp on the other side of the lake.” He lifted the other man’s shirt as carefully as he could, looking for the wound among the sticky blood making the shirt cling to his skin.

J: he shuddered slightly, there was a noticible gash on his side. “I-Is it bad..?” he mumbled as he looked away, a worried expression resting on his face

Carlos hesitated to answer for a moment. “Pretty bad. I need to put pressure on this – have a lie down for a second.” Carlos went for his first aid kit and started to grab gauze and bandages. How it all fit in his little kit was anyone’s guess, because he pulled out a lot.

Skip
blushed at their response and found himself wanting to hide away in a
cage for assuming that the scientist mean poorly, he bit his lip and
brushed it off nervously. Straightening his posture and smiling, “Well- I
don’t know about ‘great efficiency’.. It’s still hard to do and has so
many loopholes and issues..” He shook his head, looking over the two.

“Sorry, I’m so emotional.. It must be all of you humans getting to me
or something, I knew it would be hard doing this with all of this live
blood.. but I’m still trying-“ With a chuckle he rubbed at his own
bitten neck, “Any questions for this blood sucker?”

“So many!” Jayne said with a smile.

“Uh, I think Carlos already called dibs on him,” somebody said. “Shouldn’t we wait for him to present his findings first?”

They started to discuss amongst each other, debating Scientific Integrity and Respect versus Scientific Curiosity. One would wonder how these scientists managed to work together when they disagreed like this.

So at that, the vampire gave a tired huff and leaned up against the nearest wall with his arms crossed. He glanced up to Lore and decided to pull them down after debating whether or not he could get away with an uncontested meal, he would just ask them and hopefully they would approve. So he grabbed them carefully by the forearm and the waist, guiding their levitation down until their feet met the floor.

Then he gave a few flicks to their forehead, attempting to wake up their third eye and brain until he said their name in a low lulling manner, usually giving him the ability to take them out of the trance.

“Lore?”

The scientists suddenly went quiet as they watched Lore start to stir. “We should have taken video,” someone said and they all nodded in agreement.

Lore hummed and their eyes fluttered before they were once again looking at Skip. They smiled at him widely.

“How are you?” Skip asked softly as he placed his hand on their cheek, rubbing his thumb over the swell of it and smiling warmly. “If you’re tired, just know it’s completely normal.. you’ll be tired until you get some sleep, Okay?”

Lore blinked. “Wait, tired?” they asked. “Why? What happened.” They suddenly gasped. “Oh – did I do something ostentatious? Did I do a backflip? Did I do a handstand? Did you make me walk around like a chicken looking for bread in this cruel, breadless world?”

“Nothing so humiliating like that Lore, but I did happen to successfully levitate you for around fifteen minutes.” Skip giggled softly as he stepped away, helplessly licking his fangs as he glanced at their easy soft looking neck.

Lore blinked. “You did? I don’t remember that! That’s so cool!” They were clearly very excited and happy at having been a part of the mini-show.
