Carlos was busy looking through his bag to find the books he’d stashed at the bottom. He was surprised when he smelled coffee and when he looked up he saw the cup being placed in front of him. “U-oh, um… thanks. Can I…” A bottle of milk was also set down next to it before he got the words out.
“Oh… thank you very much,” he said with a smile.
