Really? Okay – do you have any camp activities later today? Maybe I can take you out just after lunch and that way you’ll be back before dinner.

“Well,”
arsenic said “her upper half is that of a dark green anthro cat, but
her lower half is covered in scales like a dinosaur, and she is four
feet in hight. Something else to note is that her signature color is
glowing green, so if anyone sees that, they should tell the media.”

Carlos frowned at them. “Um… is there a way to distinguish
her from a librarian? Or just… green?” he asked them.

“Well, i dont know what a librarian sounds like,” arsenic said “but she has the most obnoxius voice! ”

Carlos frowned. “Well… they shush people,” he said. But he
unlocked his phone and started texting Cecil. “Feline upper body, lizard lower
body, all monster, green, obnoxious voice… totally not a librarian… anything
else?”

“ nah.” said arsenic

“Um… okay… anything about how to…. I dunno, protect
ourselves?” he asked hopefully.

“Oh!” arsenic said “shes weak to light doses of order energy, witch is evil.”

“Order Energy? What’s that?” Carlos asked. “We use Bloodstones here… can they access that kind of energy?”

Absolutely, Max. You can even exchange rings if you guys
really wanted to.

*he smiles excidedly* that sounds.. awesome!

Awesome 🙂 Hey, maybe go tell Darcy, huh? That’s their name, right?

uhh… well.. well i kinda have to wait til seeing her doesn’t make me want to cry so i can make up to her cause someone made a fake breakup note for her… plus i doubt she wants to see me right now…

Oh no… well, the key to a relationship is to communicate.  Maybe get her some flowers when you talk to
her next. Or her favorite candy bar.

.. i don’t know her favorite candy, but i can get her flowers! *he smiles slightly*

Hm… maybe some Tootsie Rolls too? Everybody eats Tootsie
Rolls. I’ll even help you out Max – I could take you to the store so you can
pick them out for her.

Not too busy to help you though, Max. *smiles*

*he smiles brightly* t-thanks Carlos!

You’re absolutely welcome, buddy. When do you wanna go?

looks to carlos frowning at the pinch. “Uhhhhh all I know is… it’s
round… and orange…. tangy….. uhhh… smells good…. don’t know a lot about
human food ya be honest.. but that’s the one that turnedcmy insides
against me.”

“Did it have a rind on it?” Mr Ramon asked. “As in, could
you peel it with your hands?”

Carlos grinned at Yondu and rubbed his arm.

Yondu gives carlos a playful pout then does something infront of them. He leans over and kisses Carlos nuzzling. “Pinching me wanting attention littke shit.”

Carlos was surprised and he giggled and grinned at Yondu.
But when he glanced at his family, he noticed that both of them were staring at
him, obviously very shocked.

Oh… right.

“Um… so, Dad… Mikey… Yondu and I have kinda been… dating on
the way back to Earth.”

Carlos was taken off-guard, but he merely gave the other a contemplative frown before reaching out to comply. “Uh… alright,” he said.

“No,
no, no, no, no, the gray is wonderful!” she grinned. “It makes you
look…” She paused for a moment, searching for the right word.
“Distinguished,” she established. “You look like you’re somebody who’s
wise enough to know things about the world. It looks nice.”

Carlos smiled and looked down bashfully. “At a risk of
sounding repetitive… thank you. You really know how to flatter a guy!”

“Sorry, you’re just…” She looked down at her tea, a dark blush taking root in her cheeks. “To be truthful, I’ve kinda been admiring you from afar for a few weeks. I’ve been kind of enamored by this… idea of you, and now I’m getting to see that you’re actually… much more fascinating than what I had imagined you to be…” The blush in her cheeks slowly made its way down to her chest, and she could feel herself getting hot. “I hope that’s not too forward of me to say,” she added quietly, not looking up.

Bashful? No – Carlos was now downright embarrassed. “O-oh…” He was having trouble looking at her too.

God – what did he say to that? He was a dork! How could
anyone be so enamored by him?

“Um, w-well… I, uh… I appreciate that and all.” He really
did. But he felt like his response fell flat. “Um… thank you,” he then added,
hoping that helped.

Yondu
sighs sitting next to him and nods leaning against him. “It’s known
Terrans capture and… dissect what they don’t understand. I’ve seen it….
before my crew managed break me out. I watched as another crew member
was dissected and killed….”

“Oh my god,” Mr Ramon murmured.

“I wonder if that was SHIELD,” Mikey murmured. “Or, like…
the CIA or something.”

Carlos shrugged slightly. He hadn’t heard about this from
Yondu before… it made sense why he was so nervous being on Earth now.

Yondu shrugs. “all i know is that…… they were Terrans. And…. they tore up my friend. Didn’t even have the decency to kill him first……. not even we….. do that…. we have illegal experimentation but…. I’ve never heard anyone keeping you alive or awake for that shit….”

“That sounds pretty illegal for us,” Mr Ramon told him. “Those
are crimes against humanity.”

“When has the CIA followed the law, Dad?” Mikey asked. “And
I don’t know if ‘crimes against humanity’ laws protect non-humans anyhow.” He
looked at Yondu. “Though, it looks like they really outta, since it’s obvious
that we’re not alone in the galaxy.”

“I had no idea, Yondu,” Carlos told him the Ravager Captain.
“Had I known… Iwouldn’t have pushed so hard to make you come with me.”

Mr Ramon frowned slightly. “But, Mr Udonta, for what it’s
worth I’m very glad that you did
come. I am so grateful for what you’ve done for my family, and I’m glad that I
can say that to your face. Thank you.”

Looks to carlos and smiles ears flicking. “I promised. I just…. might have issues like what just happened….. …. and… mr. Ramon…. I’m glad I came too. Carlos speaks highly of his family. Hmmmm you know… in space they have treatments for walking and for those in wheel chairs. Get a few cybernetics you’ll be playing hard ball in the arena…”

Mikey smiled at him. “Thanks, man, but if I start toting
around alien cybernetics people are going to wonder where I got it, how much it
cost, and if I can be blackmailed into getting more.” He shrugged slightly. “I’m
a software designer – walking’s for zombies. I don’t need to do that stuff.
Besides – girls like a guy with strong arms.” And with that Mikey flexed his
arms playfully with a cheeky grin.

Carlos smiled at Mikey.

“Would you like to stay for dinner?” Mr Ramon asked. “Or… if
you can eat Earth food, that is. I know how to cook quite a bit though, and I’m
very willing to cook to your palate.”

Yondu laughs a bit and shakes his head. “I.. Uhh sure. Only human food I cannot eat is your fruit. We all found out that hard way on that. I do t care for a repeat. Carlos… your family should try beastie worms. You liked em right?”

Carlos smiled. “Yeah, they’re a great snack,” he agreed. “Not
exactly for a meal though,” he then
added and reached to gently pinch Yondu on the arm.

“Well… Yondu, humans use a lot of fruits and technical
fruits in their food,” Mr Ramon said. “There’s a vast amount of different
species of fruit, actually. Do you know which kinds are the ones that gave you
a bad reaction?”
