… *he quickly dries his eyes and smiles* t-thanks Carlos

*smiles slightly* You’re welcome, kiddo. Just let me know
what you need, okay?

*he nods, glancing around the tent*  honestly.. i don’t even know what i need…

Okay, Max. Well… we’ll start out with the shadow people for
now. Don’t follow them, okay? Don’t do what they tell you. We need to learn
about them first. Unfortunately… I can’t see them. So I need your help, Max.

*he nods again* what should i do?

Just tell me what they do. Don’t put yourself in danger, but just watch them. Write things down that they do – the things they say and things like that. I’ll try to do what research I can about shadow people and see what they could possibly want. And tell me anything they say that especially worries you. Okay, Max?

well.. they don’t actually do alot, just kinda hide behind stuff before creeping closer… i don’t think they blink either, and they really say much, it’s mostly just “thiss person will die at thiss time” or “come with uss or we will be force to take action” …. oh! i drew a picture if you want to see! *he smiles*

*isn’t sure why Max is smiling but he nods and smiles back
anyway* Sure.

A Holiday Surprise (closed w/ selfmedicatingmayor)

Carlos sighed. He barely had the chance to try to be sneaky.
Oh well – in the end Hancock would still be surprised.

As Carlos cooked/warmed up the food he thought about the
other present he had – it was in his workshop. Or… an area in the warehouse
that he deemed to be his work area. He’d have to run out and get it after
dinner. Damn – he wished he had a little bit of foresight.

Carlos paid close attention to the noodles, stirring
constantly so that none of it got stuck to the pot. Eventually, steam was
coming up out of the pot and after a test with his finger Carlos thought it was
warm enough without risk of overcooking. He quickly shut off the element and
covered the pot before he went in search of a serving spoon and some
chopsticks.

“Hey, Han – where did you put the utensils?” Carlos called
as he started opening drawers and cabinets.

“Hmm?” Looking up from his book again, Hancock peeked over the back of the couch at him, the question taking a moment to register. “Oh, that uh, that drawer there by the sink….. I think. Unless I moved shit while I was high, it’s happened before, heh.”

Carlos went to the drawer indicated and found what he was
looking for. He nodded, grabbing the serving spoon and a couple sets of
chopsticks. “Found them,” he called out. “Thank you!”

Carlos went back to the
stove and busied himself with filling their bowls. He looked over at Hancock. “Where
do you wanna eat?” he asked, smiling widely.

“Tripplesix
killed him in an attempt to get me to become a god.” said arsenic, in a
voice that sounded like raindrops, and the absence of a beloved pet.

Carlos’ face fell immediately, and he felt a twinge of fear
in him. The other him was dead. That was… scary. And unsettling.

“Is… there a chance that this Tripplesix is… still active
and dangerous enough to hurt me?” he asked carefully.

“In the multiverse, if you can get to the soul of the dead person before the litereral incarnation of death, you can keep there soul, an possibly put it in a robot body. I will, in the unlikely case that you die, to grab your soul and put it in a robot body.” arsenic said, involuntarily recalling the death of there own version of carlos.

That didn’t sound good at all to Carlos. “You didn’t answer
my question,” Carlos pointed out. “Is there a chance I’d get hurt?”

Motions
to a bike like thing. Was that a old motor cycle. It seemed Yondu was a
collector of terran things too. “Been a long time since I rode It but
yeah. And don’t call him….. I don’t want police around.”

Carlos looked at the motorcycle, surprised. “I had no idea
you had this,” he told Yondu. It looked to be in good contition. He knocked on
the fuel tank and it sounded like it had stuff in it. “You’ve driven it before?”

He
sighs as he lands. “Well…. you’ll go home… see your parents……. and…….
enjoy life I guess…… I did my part of the promise…. your home…”

Carlos blinked at him. “That’s… that’s it?” he asked. “But…
I told you I wanted you to meet my family. We were gonna shop for treats for
the crew. And I even invited you to dinner.”

Sighs. “Carlos…. I’m a blue alien on non space faring planet. ….. I…….. I prolonged bringing you back…. I’d selfishly hoped you’d say fuck all to terra and… stay…….but…. to keep you from your family… is not right….. I… Terra’s to fat off any navigation I go by…. you’ll hardly ever see me…..”

Carlos frowned. “But… my Dad would want to meet the guy who
brought me back. Are you just going to try to forget about me, Yondu?” That
wasn’t what he wanted. Not what he wanted at all. He’d been trying to think of
ways to get Yondu through the neighborhood to go to his house.

“Doubt I could forget you even if I had my memory erased…… it’s dark out…… so long as I get into hiding when the sun comes up… I’ll be fine….. I can’t be seen…. or…… I’m gonna get dissected on some lab table….”

“It’s cold enough, you can wear freakin’ ski goggles for all
I care.” But Carlos sighed, understanding. “Look, just… how long can you guys
stick around up in orbit?”

Carlos thought that maybe there would be a lot of ‘settling’
for him to do anyway. A lot of excuses to make. He sighed. He had no idea what
he was going to say still.

Shrugs. “Until I say we go. We can always send peter and the Terran looking crew down for supplies…….. I’m sorry. Your right. We made a plan and I’d be a dick to ruin it. And while it’s a nice dick it’s not time for it to come out and make its self known. You got a extra hoodie?”

Carlos nodded and got up to go to his luggage. He opened it
up and started to look through until finding a navy blue hooded jacket. He
pulled it out and offered it to Yondu.

“Will it fit?” he asked.

Pulls his coat off then slips the hoodie on. It was slightly snug but it fit. He pulled the hood over his head and looks at him motioning for the hatch but grabs him back quickly and kisses him and pulls out the photo book. “Don’t forget this….”

Carlos smiled slightly and took it. “Thanks, Yondu,” he
said. “My dad’s house is probably a half hour walk away.” He sighed, wishing he
had his car. “I dunno… should I give my dad a call first? Before going to the
door? I don’t want him calling the police before we can get there.”
