Half laughs a bit. “I.. lo.. lo look forward ta it.”

Yondu ingnores them checking his console. He had to admit those
springs were a great place. He felt like a billion credits. Defiantly
due a repeat. “Hey Carlos. We got 2 jumps then we’ll be on terra. Lookit
the map and see if ya can pinpoint yer folks place.”

Carlos looked at Yondu from his seat. “Oh, sure,” he said
and headed for Navigation. Kraglin pulled up scans of Earth for Carlos and
stepped aside for him to zoom into the location.

“There’s a forest close by my dad’s house,” Carlos told
Yondu. “I don’t know if you have an M-ship capable of cloaking, but I think
that’s the best place for an LZ.” He tried to keep his voice even, trying to
contain the butterflies of excitement that were currently making him feel a
little sick.

“Yeah. We can take my warbird…. used that when I picked up petey. Krags. When I’m down there your in charge. Tullk back him up…. everyone strap in. About to do the jumps.”

Carlos looked back toward his chair, but Kraglin grabbed his
shoulders and forced him down to sit into the Navigation chair. The First-Mate then
went to sit in Carlos’ chair – just until the jumps were over. Kraglin looked
to Yondu and nodded.

Yondu smiles nodding flashing The whole ships alarms for a jump and they all feel the lurch and pull as they shoot off half doing his trade mark wheeeee as they shoot off.

Shortly they appeared in the sol galaxy space the ship was in cloak mode as it made its decent closer to terra. “There ya are carlos. Yer home. Halfnut lock in on the location and bring us close. We’re taking the warbird. Carlos. Common.”

Carlos looked at Yondu. “Hold on, just a sec,” he said as he
finished locating the forest near his Dad’s house. He selected it for Half-nut
before getting up to go follow Yondu.

“Remember, this is an under-developed planet,” Kraglin
announced to the bridge. “Keep us out of sight of their satellites.”

*he
nods slightly, glancing away* if i keep my old secrets, does it count
as lying? like the on going lies that i’ve been keeping?

Old secrets? Like, the ones that don’t matter anymore and
can’t hurt anyone? You don’t have to keep those. *sighs* But, I mean… if you
are trying to protect someone, then that’s fine. *he blinks* Actually – no,
wait. If you have a problem, you tell an adult, okay? If you’re being asked to
keep  secrets, you tell an adult you
trust. It’s not your job to try to protect people – even if that person is the
adult you trust, okay? You’re a kid…

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to confuse you.

*he frowns and looks out of the tent* thinking about everything… the lies, the lives, the loves… it makes my chest hurt… does your chest ever hurt like that? where it just feels like a black hole slowly eating you up till there’s nothing left inside, but you can’t tell anyone cause you’re scared if what they’ll think, so you don’t tell anyone but it just gets worse and worse and͈̟͔̭̳ ̺̞̖̳̫w̭͙o̘̮ṟ̮̟͖͎s̲͔e͍̤͚͎̦͖ *he hugs himself, letting out a shakey breath*

*frowns deeply* Take a breath, Max. It’s okay. I understand…That’s the worst feeling. But Max, if you
don’t feel good you should tell someone that you trust. Maybe your camp
counselor – ‘counselor’ is in their job descriptions, after all.

but i don’t know any of the camp counselors let alone trust them! i mean, aside from Jen, Daniel, and you, i don’t really know any adults! *his breathing quickens * and it’s hard to trust people when at least half the people you talk too have

Max, it’s okay. No, I’m not going to say I understand about people trying to

wanna help you, buddy. With the shadow people, with everything.

A creature walks up to you. They are 8 feet tall, and have the base body of an anthro skeletal cat. The little white dots in there eyes are the shape of gears, and they have skeletal bat wings protruding from there back. They are wearing a blue hoodie and black shorts with white stripes on the sides of the pant legs, the gap in between the two articles of clothing showing quite a lot of spine, and they are also wearing pink bedroom slippers, witch there toe claws (they also have some claws on the end of there fingers) poke through. They have horns that curve and hug the side of there head, witch come out from behind silver furred cat ears. They also have a long tail with a poof of silver fur on the end. “Howdy,” they say “im arsenic dreemur, fusion of the two beings known as wildheart and horns, and i need your help.”

Carlos looked up at the being. To his credit he only felt a little bit like he was about to wet his
pants in fear. But one didn’t live in Night Vale very long if they didn’t learn
how to shake those sort of feelings off.

“Um… Okay?” he asked. “I’m pretty sure arsenic is a poison
that tastes like almonds. Though I’ve never had almonds, so I don’t know. Um…
what is it that you need help with… friend?”

((Woops, wrong blog on first rebolg))

“You see,” arsenic said “the memorys of my friends and family were locked away by my asshole cousin, tripplesix the trickster goddess, and i need someone to help me take away her godhood so i can get there memorys back. I figured that i would ask for help from the nearest alternate version of someone i know, so it would be easier to get along. Sorry for being creepy.”

“Alternate version?” Carlos asked, confused. He couldn’t
imagine an alternate-universe version of himself doing something other than
science. “You’re okay, I promise. I’m just surprised, is all. So… are we, like,
friends in another universe? Is that how this is?”

Carlos looked at him and he smiled. “Oh, of course,” he
said.

Carlos got his tools and set them aside before he started to
carefully unwrap the terminal that they got from the fabric he’d wrapped it in.
He then took out one of his screwdrivers and started to take off the casing.

Going quiet then, the ghoul just sat close and watched the other man work, a curious look on his face. “Y’know, I don’t think I’ve ever really seen the inside of one’a these things, not like…. whole, anyway. I’ve seen ‘em smashed up before.”

Carlos grinned again. “It’s kinda nice,” Carlos said. “I
like seeing all the order and knowing that things are connected in a special
way. I can’t tell you how many cars or machines that I’ve seen that just made
me sad looking at them. I’ve always wanted to ride in a car.”

Carlos took the casing off and set it to the side, upside
down as a make-shift tray for parts. A thought occurred to him. “Oh – can you
get me a bowl for the screws I get out?” he asked Hancock. “I’m sorry; I didn’t
think of it until now.”

wait, you’re not suppose to follow strangers? why? don’t people follow stranger all the time? *he tilts his head*

*looks at Max* Has… no one ever told you that? Oh my god…
okay. Um… well, it’s for safety reasons. Sometimes, people want to um… hurt
little kids. I don’t know why, but they want to. So parents are supposed to
tell their kids not to follow strangers or do anything a stranger says because
it could hurt you.

And that instruction is especially true with the shadow
people – we don’t know who they are or what they want. So don’t do anything
they tell you to, okay?

oh… but.. what if the stranger is nice? all the strangers i’ve met have turned into friends! my bosses were strangers, well the one still is kinda, but now i know them, and know that they don’t to hurt me! *he smiles*

You can try to get to know them, but if they tell you to go
someplace with them on your own or tell you to keep bad secrets you shouldn’t
listen to them. You need to be careful, Max. When you first meet people, don’t
do what they say.

well.. what counts as a ‘bad secret’? cause i have a lot of secrets and i want to know if their bad..

Well, things like being told to lie. Like, if someone says “don’t
tell so-and-so I broke their toy” or something. Or “don’t tell them I stole
their candy”. (this kid’s parents should have already told him this… did they really not care enough?)

oh… then i have a few of those… *he glanced at the floor* but.. what if you lie to like.. protect someone? ‘what they don’t know won’t hurt them’ right?

*frowns. Now that’s tough.*It really depends, if I’m going
to be honest. But you have to think – is it because you don’t want to hurt
them? Or you don’t want to get in trouble? Generally speaking, Max, you need to
tell the truth.
